Punter Carnage
I didn't watch the Pro Bowl but, if I had, I would be talking about this play. (And wait to listen to the Japanese broadcast of the play near the end.)
Two Things I Heard On The Radio This Morning
If you appear on Regis & Kathy Lee (or whatever), you receive $850 but they don't pay for your airfare and they don't pay for hotel. (At least this is what tech guru Leo Laporte said.)
The never funny Hal Jay of WBAP actually was funny when he said, "Do you know what won the Grammy in the category of Best Children's Spoken Word? (pause) 'Here's Your Puppy,' by Weird Uncle Harold." (insert awkward silence). Shocking for WBAP, but funny.
Family Values
Flip on over to the Update and read the illegal immigrant story. (Problem solved, by the way.)
Anyone want to bet what sentence will drive the Right Wing crazy?

Caught My Eye
Anna Nicole Overload
TMZ (a huge gossip site) claims this is a pic of Anna's refrigerator. At least what her refrigerator in the Bahamas looked like where she was living.
So Much For Spontaneity

I was listening to the Wade Phillips press conference on The Ticket last week. During a pause, I heard a voice say "In a second, we'll have Jerry and Wade walk through the locker room together. So those that want a shot of that need to position yourselves." And this pic comes out the next day in the Morning News.

Super Bowl Greatness

U2 gave the first Super Bowl Halftime performance after 9/11 and it was absolutely great. I just think it was too soon for us to embrace the tragedy. Looking back on it, it was very moving.
BigBagOfNothing.com had the video up tonight. I watched it all the way through.
Arch-Conservative State Sen. Jane Nelson . . .
Rights Over Content

This one drives me crazy. On one hand, I've always hated the Confederate Flag and really cringe whenever I see anyone display it. But it's more important to me that the government not be able to censor anyone who wishes to flaunt it. Even if it is on a silly purse.
I'll vote, begrudingly, for the girls on this one. (But "patriots"? Uh, no.)

"Jesus Camp" . . .

. . . is a fascinating documentary. It raises the question of how quickly and how intensely children should be indoctrinated into the religion of their parents. For all of you that ever attended a Baptist church camp, you'll have some flashbacks.
And it made me recall a conversation I had with a female friend [Edit: who was Baptist] while I was in college. For whatever reason, I had said to her in a passing conversation, "Isn't it weird that if my parents had been Catholic that I'd be a Catholic?"
"Not me," she said. "I'd still be a Baptist."
I didn't have much to do with her after that.
"Hard Candy" . . .

. . . is one bizarre film. Summary: A guy wishes Chris Hansen of "To Catch A Predator" would walk into the room to stop his nightmare inflicted by a Molly Ringwald type of character. Good stuff. And the movie poster is great.
