Random Monday Morning Thoughts

A five shot lead headed into the back nine fell apart in 2016.

  • Horner trial updates:
    • It's certainly national news now.  Not always accurate, but it is a national story.

    • Friday witness: A G-Man was in charge of the search of the Fed Ex vehicle.

    • Screenshot of the interior cameras from the abduction van which will record the audio of the killing.

    • The actual abduction van.

    • Former Wise County Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator Alise Amey testified.

    • An unnecessarily combative Sgt. Brett Yaro of the sheriff's office was the last witness on Friday to testify.

  • DFW quick hits:
    • The headline is all that we know.

    • "According to a police report, the victims are two women and three men ranging from 20 to 24 years old."

    • "One worker has died and a second worker has been critically injured in an electrocution incident while working on a pole at a gas station in the 5800 block of E. Berry Street, FWFD confirms."
    • She was fired on a vote to 4-3 by the city council.  I wouldn't want to be a city manager.
  • Trump continues to deteriorate into madness:
    • "Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy." He picked a fight with the Pope? The Pope??!!

    • Then he posted this image depicting himself as Jesus last night. Let the anti-Christ discussion begin -- with good reason.  (The changes he made from the "original" image are also weird.)
  • The War:
    • As "peace" talks with Iran fell apart on Saturday night, Trump was at a UFC fight.

    • Sunday morning: Trump oddly announced that the entire Strait of Hormuz would be blockaded by the U.S.   So it was going to be a blockade of Iran's blockade?
    • Then he walked that back later and said the blockade referred only to Iranian ports and not the Strait. It still doesn't make any sense.
  • The Trump of Hungary was defeated by a landslide in an election despite the real Trump's full support.

    • Trump has tricked up his proposed arch again.  It now stands 250 feet tall. No one asked for this.

  • The Official Liberally Lean Girl is in rehab.
