Random Monday Morning Thoughts

The Republican National Convention opened in Cleveland and many delegates, including those from Texas, were having trouble coming to grips with the fact that Trump would be the nominee. Later in the week, Ted Cruz would be a speaker and refuse to endorse him.

  • Despite being promised that Iran's war capabilities had been "obliterated" time and time again, the war really cranked up over the weekend.
    • On Friday, two American servicemen were killed: Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

    • Then another one died on Saturday.

    • Last night, the U.S. engaged in the ninth straight day of bombings.

    • Meanwhile, Trump was messing around at the World Cup Final.

  • A bad crash in McKinney killed an elderly couple.

  • "2nd Annual"? I think I missed the first one. Side note: AI can make some fancy graphics for things like this.

  • I can't take it.

  • Plano house fire on Friday.

  • It's always good when the Tate brothers get arrested (video), but especially so when one is wearing that outfit.

  • We are going to need a Netflix documentary about this ordeal from Friday.

  • Story. "She relocated to College Station, Texas, turning pro in 2024 while still working full time as a fire and life safety inspector at Texas A&M University."

  • Say what?

  • Trump, when not at the World Cup, was laser focused on the war this weekend.

  • A good story about comparing the court transcript with the defendant's Motion for New Trial. Gift link

  • You've probably seen the video of the Southlake officer pulling a guy from a burning car on highway 114.  How the driver didn't die from smoke inhalation is beyond me.
