• According to the Wise County Messenger, all the teens were from Canada and in Wise County to attend a motorcycle race. 
  
  
  
• Eight Democrat senators caved and agreed to reopen the government last night based upon a promised vote in the Senate in December to restore ACA subsidies.  It won't pass, and the House wouldn't approve it anyway, but they think they'll be able get the chance to publicly blame Republicans for healthcare premiums going up.

• While Trump took Air Force One  to Mar-a-Lago on Friday night, his justice department asked the Supreme Court to stop a lower court's order requiring SNAP benefits to be paid to the poor. 
  
  
  
• We have another sports betting scandal. "Prosecutors allege that Luis Ortiz was paid $5,000 for throwing an intentional ball June 15 and Emmanuel Clase given $5,000 for facilitating it. They did it again, according to the indictment, June 27. The payment for each on that pitch was $7,000 apiece."
