Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts




As the presidential race gear up for the home stretch, a fan climbed Trump Tower using suction cups. 

  • The videos of this are incredible.  And it was a long, long lasting earthquake. 
  • An amazing story of Trump being hidden away in a catering truck:  



  • After being confirmed by the Senate on 4:30 a.m. last Saturday, Todd Blanche, on of Trump's former lawyers, was sworn in by a new federal judge, also one of Trump's former lawyers. It's over. No one will stop him.

  • It's primary day in Minnesota and that means we learn the fate of the My Pillow Guy.

  • If you like weird baseball rules, it took MLB umpires 16 minutes to figure this one out last night. And I've never seen a runner at third leave to early on a fly ball, and the score count.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts


In game photo on an August afternoon in the "old" ballpark.  

  • Wise County State Rep. sent a strange warning to city managers (who are unelected.) I assume he's talking about city council elections, but his ire is directed towards the city manager position. Only Decatur, Bridgeport and Boyd have one.

  • Foot pursuit by Boyd PD in Aurora on Friday.

  • Last week's "Meet The Prosecutors and Judges" event held by the Wise County Conservatives appears to have had modest attendance.

  • A big rig appears to have run of 287 onto the troubled Bonds Ranch Road on Friday.


  • Seems like more people would be concerned about this. 


  • Video was released in the shooting at the In-n-Out Burger in Idaho last week.  Workers scrambled after a co-worker was shot as she stood at the drive-through window. 

  • You, too, could go see the Statue of Liberty on a 21 footer with fourteen people onboard.  



  • So much winning.  This is becoming a Jimmy Carter level of embarrassment.

  • As an indication of the crazy new world we are entering, a PAC releases an anti-Talarico ad using AI and depicting him acting on a surgeon on a young girl performing a sex change surgery. It's wild.

I had forgotten what an ordeal this was for her. 

  • Good catch by Wise County Scanner.   Wood was sentenced to life in prison in August, 2022 for shooting and injuring officer Rex Richie with the Rhome PD. Wood is now dead. 


  • Two bullet holes alleged to have come from a shooting range 1.2 miles away? I see a proof problem. 

  • It was a 10 year sentence. The defendant graduated from Highland Park High School. The victim "grew up in the Preston Hollow neighborhood ."
     

  • You don't see this very often. It involves Gainesville head football coach Neil Searcy. Gift link.

  • Legal stuff:  A few months back, Keller ISD was sued for having only at-large school board seats instead of single member districts. The was thrown out by a Fort Worth federal judge.  But this is the first time I saw wherthe judge ordered the lawyer for the Plaintiff to get hit with big attorney's fees.
