Random Monday Morning Thoughts

In game photo on an August afternoon in the "old" ballpark.

  • Wise County State Rep. sent a strange warning to city managers (who are unelected.) I assume he's talking about city council elections, but his ire is directed towards the city manager position. Only Decatur, Bridgeport and Boyd have one.

  • Foot pursuit by Boyd PD in Aurora on Friday.

  • Last week's "Meet The Prosecutors and Judges" event held by the Wise County Conservatives appears to have had modest attendance.
  • Some very unusual jury activity in this story.  Gift link.

  • A big rig appears to have run of 287 onto the troubled Bonds Ranch Road on Friday.

  • Seems like more people would be concerned about this.

  • Video was released in the shooting at the In-n-Out Burger in Idaho last week.  Workers scrambled after a co-worker was shot as she stood at the drive-through window.

  • You, too, could go see the Statue of Liberty on a 21 footer with fourteen people onboard.

  • So much winning.  This is becoming a Jimmy Carter level of embarrassment.

  • This ruling comes a little late.

    • But to show you where Trump's priorities are, this was his response.

  • As an indication of the crazy new world we are entering, a PAC releases an anti-Talarico ad using AI and depicting him acting on a surgeon on a young girl performing a sex change surgery. It's wild.

  • Flock camera news
  • The Business Second™: Ridgmar Mall will become warehouses.

  • I saw a first for me at a driver's license hearing the other day: A guy was arrested for DWI on an electric bike.

It's Friday - Let's Get Out of Here

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

I had forgotten what an ordeal this was for her.

  • Good catch by Wise County Scanner.   Wood was sentenced to life in prison in August, 2022 for shooting and injuring officer Rex Richie with the Rhome PD. Wood is now dead.

  • Two bullet holes alleged to have come from a shooting range 1.2 miles away? I see a proof problem.

  • It was a 10 year sentence. The defendant graduated from Highland Park High School. The victim "grew up in the Preston Hollow neighborhood ."

  • You don't see this very often. It involves Gainesville head football coach Neil Searcy. Gift link.

  • New this morning. It doesn't just happen here.

  • They still haven't released a single video of him.

  • New this morning. But all of this really doesn't matter. In the unlikely event Blance is not confirmed, he will still serve indefinitely as interium Attorney General.
  • We're doomed x 2:

  • In Flock camera news:

  • Ignoring the Supreme Court again as his own personal Joseph Goebbels is at his side.

  • Grifters gonna grift. The law firm is in Texas and has no experience in this area.

  • Legal stuff:  A few months back, Keller ISD was sued for having only at-large school board seats instead of single member districts. The was thrown out by a Fort Worth federal judge.  But this is the first time I saw wherthe judge ordered the lawyer for the Plaintiff to get hit with big attorney's fees. He's now appealing.  Gift link

  • sLauren Whitener Clock: 7 years and 33 days.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

Wise County touched by the White House.

  • The fire near Lake Bridgeport continued burning until yesterday.  In all, it burned 906 acres.

  • Kids, be careful out there:
    • Krum

    • Justin

        • Although I've never understood parents casually giving interviews when your kid is in intensive care.

  • I was about to say "this seems harsh" until I learned he was defrauding the families of inmates.

  • Let's strap a 97 year old to a plane and set a record?

  • Trump debuted new hair yesterday.

  • Legal nerdy stuff:  Federal Judge Brantley Starr out of Dallas just did this in a footnote. Yes, it is real.

  • Messenger - Above the Fold
