Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

A county clerk in Kentucky was making national headlines for refusing to issue marriage certificates for same sex couples.  She would be defeated in the next election. Side note: She has been married four times to three husbands.

  • Oh, my. Bodycam of the rescue is here.

  • This is really crazy.

  • (Gift link.) "At the meeting [of roughly 200 people] Tuesday night, King’s supporters split into three groups to plan how best to support him: one group focused on prayer needs, another on organizing financial help for King’s legal fees and the third on putting together a “PR strategy.”

  • Problem solved.

  • They certainly do know how to throw a parade.

  • Wait. We are just killing suspects at will now?  Video. And didn't Wikileaks caused a major scandal by releasing and revealing the U.S. engages in this type of activity?

  • Regarding the recent ICE job expo in Arlington, that's a heck of second paragraph:

  • Rudy was so injured that he immediately made his way to a podcast mic as soon as he was released from the hospital.

  • Ronny might be drinking again.

  • As crazy as she was on the witness stand, she was likeable and authentic.

  • And another failure for U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to secure an indictment from a grand jury.

  • When all else fails, rig the system.

  • Chicago's governor yesterday, "We have reason to believe that the Trump administration has already begun staging the Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois."

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

Blue Bell was back on the shelves after a recall due to  Listeria bacteria outbreak which sickened 10 people across four states and resulted in three deaths. (Did you know that a Blue Bell executive was actually tried because of this on a federal felony case which resulted in a hung jury? He later agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor.)

  • It sounds like the Department of Defense will be renamed to the Department of War this afternoon.  Sure, it takes an act of Congress to do that, but laws and rules don't matter any longer.

  • That sounds like quite the wreck last night which is getting no media attention.

  • Story.

  • Mass death around the world over the last two days.

  • I have a lot of questions about this story

  • The leaders of China, Russia, and India had a love-fest yesterday.

    • And the Rocket Man joins them today for a parade.

  • Oh, good grief.  He literally was the #2 man in trying to overturn the 2020 election.  Not to mention that he's a horrible person.

  • Also incredible.

  • Told ya it would be a failed bit.

  • Thumbs Up: The Yogurt Shop Murders on HBO.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts

And so it goes.

  • County Judge J.D. Clark gave us an online sneak peak of the courthouse renovation. This is on the third floor where the commissioners court will meet.

  • I never heard an update on this.

  • "The firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation and over-exertion, but all were treated and released by Sunday morning." A little strange.

  • A 7,400 page document dump on a Sunday of a holiday weekend?

  • Something is a little fishy about this.

  • We have absolutely no details, but a boat crashed into a dock on Eagle Mountain Lake last night.

  • Video.

  • On Friday,  the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit struck down Trump's tariffs which he is imposing instead of Congress.  The decision is on hold.

  • Trump:
    • With rumors about his health over the weekend, Trump posted this QAnon craziness.

    • And in two posts, Trump vowed to end mail-in voting and voting machines for 2026. Get ready, we are about to have elections in name only. It's over.

    • He threatened to send troops to Chicago. "We're coming."

  • Kristi Noem was speaking straight  from the authoritarian playbook on Sunday: Only the dear leader can save the country.

  • Gift link

  • The Business Second™: After a lull in warehouse building, they're back, baby!

  •  The Cowboys shouldn't even try to pull this off:

  • The Evil Empire fell to Ohio State but you wouldn't know it by the box score. And if I didn't know better, I would swear that Arch Manning has some injury. That performance was just weird.

  • THWMISB™.
