Random Monday Morning Thoughts



A tremendous picture coupled with my naivety of Trump's electability. 

  • Trump and Putin and Ukraine update:
    • Friday's summit in Alaska turned out to be a big bag of nothing. 




    • And last night, Russia bombed Ukraine and killed at least 10.


    • And how Trump continues to blame Zelensky for being invaded is one of the million mysteries surrounding Trump. Last night: 


    • Zelensky is coming to the White House today, but Europe is bringing in the calvary to back him up. 

       

  • A strange story of a guy trying to burn down a house in Midlothian.

  • 14 year olds. Dashcam/Bodycam footage.

  • This story has a feel like the movie Bully. 
     

  • D.C. militarization update:
    • ICE bragged about eight agents tearing down a sign protesting their presence. Video.
    • Masked federal agents slam a guy into the street.  Video.


  • Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick threatened, illegally, to kick anyone out of the gallery of the Texas Senate who does not stand for the invocation. Video 

  • I would expect no less from her.



  • Trump had a "Covfefe"  moment yesterday morning.

  • In case you were wondering what the Little Ball of Insurrection aka the January 6th Metroplex Real Estate Agent is doing these days, she has moved to Florida and hanging out with other January 6ers.

  • MSNBC, which has been sold out of the NBC family, announced it will become MS NOW by the end of the year. (The MS, oddly, stands for Microsoft which hasn't been a partner in the company since the 2005.)

Random Friday Morning Thoughts




This was written a few days after the first debate. It still holds up, because Trump's alure really was, and still is, as simple as that. Just replace "political correctness" with "woke." 

  • Trump is in the air on his way to Alaska to meet with Putin to either (1) tell Putin the war must end or (2) divvy up Ukraine.


    • Fun fact: On average, that's a seven hour flight. 
  • In a matter of six short months, we have normalized sending troops into American cities. 

  • There's a weird border-line tropical storm, with an even weirder name of "Invest 98-L", which has quickly formed in the Gulf of Mexico.

  • After the Sandwich Throwing Incident, Pam Bondi has a message for all the potential evil-doers out there . . .

    • . . . except, you know, these guys.



  • More concentration camps.

  • Totally normal in a democracy.



  • This isn't exactly the Republican limited-government party I grew up with. 

  • Get your bids in.  It didn't sell at it's list price of $27.5 million.  


  • First poll we've seen which doesn't have Paxton leading bigly.

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts






A teen was damaging cars in an auto dealership when he he was shot and killed by police. This was a big deal in the metroplex and even made national news. But a grand jury would ultimately no bill the officer. The City of Arlington settled a civil case for $850,000.

  •  Leander ISD. Forty kids were on board.


  • My super secret sources tell me that there were multiple witnesses to the shooting of a homeless man in broad daylight on Saturday in Denton.  And a medical examiner's report yesterday said the man died from "multiple" gun shot wounds.  I bet this gets messy.

  • Police finally release a photo of the guy who shot up the CDC offices in Georgia last week that left one officer dead. "Patrick Joseph White fired nearly 500 rounds during the shooting,"

  • Putin and Trump will meet tomorrow in Alaska.  But here's some big news this morning: "The Kremlin says Trump and Putin will hold a joint press conference after their meeting in Alaska." And the White House just confirmed it.  The last time that happened was in Helsinki in 2016, and it did not go well. 

  • The guy named chief of the Bureau of Labor Statistics to report numbers that Trump likes was hanging out in a crowd of Insurrectionists on January 6th.


  • Uh, oh. This news this morning might get someone else fired.
