Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts




This was actually pretty shocking news. Little did we know that we were five months 
away from Trump's ride down the golden escalator. 

  • I've written about this story before where a son-in-law head-butted his father-in-law three times at Woody's Tavern in Fort Worth. The plea bargain is for 23 years.



  • Godley is down in Johnson County. 

  • That's a heck of way to transform the federal government into Trump yes men. 


    • The offer to resign was via email and looked very similar to the email that Elon sent out to his employees when he bought Twitter -- right down to the title, "A Fork in the Road."   Want to resign? Just hit reply and type "Resign" in the subject line.

  • It sounds like it was chaos yesterday with the federal spending shutdown -- including Medicaid shut down for a while -- but we'll have to wait until Monday to see how this is going to pan out.  That is, unless Trump ignores the federal judge, which he absolutely might do.

  • Add General Mark Milley to the list of people no longer receiving protection from Iran. We are going to have our own modern day "Night of the Long Knives"  because these guys are so exposed.  Trump's enemy list grows.

  • We unnecessarily crashed another plane again - this one at a cost of around $90 million. And it was caught on video. 



  • Sure schools need teacher pay raises and more resources, and the legislature is about to gut them with school vouchers. And never mind that we fear our kids might be gunned down like in Uvalde. But Rep. David Spiller (R-Jacksboro) offered the Ten Commandments to schools yesterday. 

  • I haven't done my Medical Examiner rant in a while, but there's a new reason. There is absolutely no way you can determine "suicide" by looking at a charred body.  You can tell me that he died by being burned to death, but that's it. 


  • It was the first press conference ever for Trump's new 27 year old press secretary yesterday.
  • Oh, my. He was a freshman at Temple University. 


  • Crazy Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s confirmation hearing begins this morning. This comes on the heels of Caroline Kennedy telling us yesterday that "his basement, his garage, his dorm room were always the center of the action where drugs were available and he enjoyed showing off how he put baby chickens and mice in a blender to feed to his hawks."

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts




Look at this ancient history of the Stock Show going all woke. 

  • Just getting shot and killed on the way home from work last night because of a road rage incident. He was identified as 62-year-old Ricky Langs.

  • If President Biden had said something like this, we would have had him committed to the nuthouse 

  • You're telling me these guys generally make poor decisions? 


  • The Messenger is reporting that Wise County is teaming up with AI which makes for a couple I didn't expect to see together.

  • Prosecuting the prosecutors? It begins. 

  • All of these guys were long term Justice Department employees that have civil service protection, but the rules and laws don't matter any longer. 

  • So last night the government paused all checks to anyone other than individuals (Medicare and social security, etc.)? That seems like a big deal since it includes "all grants and loans." Gift link.


  • The White House released the official portrait of Melania. 

    • I knew it looked familiar. 

  • Everything this Administration does is for the cameras. She was confirmed on Saturday and is doing ride-alongs with immigration raids on Monday night. 
     

  • Oh, my. 


  • Bad cop.


  • I don't exactly trust this Twitter account, and he doesn't tell us exactly where this happened. Regardless, that's a bad look for that new divorcee. Move on, buddy. 

  • That press conference yesterday was the silliest bunch of mumbo jumbo the Cowboys have ever thrown out there -- and that's no small feat. 

  • The opening to the the SNL "50 Years of Music" special last night on NBC was incredible.  Video.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts




The Messenger tried for months to get the offense reports on what happened out there, but the Wise County Sheriff's office would never release them. 

  • That's a pretty dramatic photo from Friday. "A cell phone worker is in critical condition after coming into contact with a high-voltage wire at the top of a cell tower in Burleson."


  • Oh, my. He was transported to Parkland. "While fleeing, the teen jumped over a concrete security fence into the power supply terminal, at which point he was electrocuted and a fire started, police said." But it all started when police were called because the teen was threatening to "hurt himself."
     


  • The cry to "round up all those Mexicans" is about to become worse and worse. 

  • So we are basically going to make a reality show out of the round ups?

  • The equivalent of the Brown Shirts/Stormtroopers are coming. Story. 


  • It's always a big deal when a police officer gets indicted for murder in the line of duty. It should be a big deal when the case is suddenly dismissed. The Tarrant County D.A.'s office didn't even release a statement. The case just quietly went away.

  • Trump and Colombia got into a verbal skirmish yesterday. During the middle of it, the White House released an official statement and misspelled the country's name.


  • Told you it would happen. But it was a close vote on Friday night.  VP Vance had to be called in to break the tie. 


  • Did I mention how the Tarrant County Republican Chairman is crazy?

  • The Business Second™.  I don't know if this is a big deal or not. "Chinese startup DeepSeek – which has soared to #1 on Apple's app store chart – presented a ChatGPT-like AI model called R1, which has all the familiar abilities, operating at a fraction of the cost of OpenAI's, Google's or Meta's popular AI models."

     

  • In the official Twitter post by the Cowboys on Friday announcing their new head coach, they couldn't somehow couldn't find a photo that wasn't reversed.

  • So I finally watched Landman.  It's both horrible and entertaining.
