- So we wake up to learn that the National Security Adviser has resigned because he contacted the Russians about removing sanctions before he took office? The destruction of the Trump Administration begins. (Kellyanne Conway said yesterday that Trump had "full confidence" in him.) He has been in office less than 30 days. What a cluster.
- Mrs. LL this morning: "You want to know the big news? There will be a black Bachorlette!" (I told her she just made a bullet point. She laughed out loud.)
- And you know why the NSA guy had to resign? The press. This time being the Washington Post doing its job. Or as Trump calls it, "FAKE NEWS!!"
- Go to Fox News when a scandal like that breaks and it takes them forever to report it.
- What a gloomy Valentine's Day.
- Fox 4's Steve Eagar. blocked me on Twitter. I have no idea why, and he's only the second guy to ever do so. What is he thinking? His job depends on exposure from viewers and people talking about Fox 4. How does someone in the media not understand that? (And the feedback I got over that guy's arrogance once I announced I was blocked by him was shocking.)
- Gola Mae Fleming, 103, of Bridgeport had a segment on Fox 4 being a Dallas Mav's fan.
- Man, the "cash it outside" girl from Dr. Phil is getting famous. Idiocracy. And it's on all of us.
- The Canadian Prime Minister met Trump yesterday.
- And Trump is already golfing more than the retired folks out at Runaway Bay.
- As I continue to watch more Continuing Legal Education videos, I loved one lady from Carrollton who said time and time again, "Know your county. Know your judge." She was talking about knowing nuances, the judge's staff, and most importantly the judge's view of disputed issues of the law. That's why I've never understood the out of town lawyer who stops me in the courthouse hallway and asks, "How's this docket thing work?"
- Never before in the history of America do every single one of us, no matter in what aspect of our lives, need to ask ourselves, "Are we being conned?"

Look What A Guy Just Did To Me After Today's Random Thoughts

Random Monday Morning Thoughts
- For some reason I watched re-watched The Cable Guy (which is beyond fantastic once you realize all the now famous actors who show up in it) and laughed out loud. I then watched This Is Us and the movie The Descendants -- both which are great. I think I'm at the point in my life where I'll stick with The Cable Guy -- it's easier to take.
- While trying to get a picture of either a police raid or an eviction in my neighborhood on Friday the Family Pup ate my Sonic burger with not one bit of remorse. Edit: And I'm getting killed before 9:00 a.m. for the wording of this sentence. Deservedly so, but still.
- Alvord wants a $13.6 million bond package. If you don't think government runs the economy, you're wrong.
- The special prosecutors of AG Ken Paxton want a change of venue out of Collin County. Translation: We can't get a conviction in Collin County.
- I been watching Continuing Legal Education videos because my mandatory deadline is due. It is so easy to spot from the start those who actually know what they are doing.
- The Trump Administration trotted out some 31 year old guy named Stephen Miller for all the Sunday morning talks shows and he was destroyed every time. (He would have been more believable if he would have broken out into Take The Money And Run.)
- The President of the United States decided to attack Mark Cuban yesterday. Incredible.
- What a crazy story about the pilot who was set to fly from Austin to San Francisco.
- We've entered Idiocracy even further as the U.S. Department of Education proves it is not that smart. (Uh, that's supposed to be W.E.B. Du Bois.)
- And then they followed it was this:
- That Bridgeport shooting that leads the Update sounds very complicated.

It's Friday. Let's Get Out Of Here.
The Family Cat and I will have a talk tonight about doing bits.
Wise County? Trinity River?
I'm not sure they are doing it right.
Who amongst us does not like Randy's Donuts?

Random Friday Morning Thoughts
- I walked out of the bathroom this morning ready to go to work, Mrs. LL was in bed, she's on her phone, and she's looking at Deadspin. I've created a monster.
- The Eighth Grader in House thinks I'm crazy because, as I was dropping her off for school, I was laughing out loud at The Ticket talking about how it would be a great idea for Major League Baseball to put a cow in the outfield to trick it up.
- The 9th Circuit, as everyone with a brain could predict, overturned Trump's Muslim Ban.
- Let's check in on the Toddler-In-Chief. Buddy, you lose every time in court. (And he went ALL CAPS. You never go ALL CAPS.)
- Oh, and he's after the New York Times again this morning. #YouOwnHim
- My goal for him remains the same: Don't get all of us killed and I'm good.
- There's no way I can explain it, and I can't find it on Fox 4's website, but Steve Eagar reached a new low interviewing a $30,000 millionaire last night at around 9:10 p.m. . Anyone have a link? It was gold. I'll devote a whole post to it if I can find it.
- And speaking of horrible reporting, this Channel 5 reporter refers to Dallas as "D-town" (you ever heard of that?) and thinks that it can become a farming community.
- Random Obit: His "life served no other obvious purpose, he did not contribute to society ... and he possessed no redeeming qualities."
- There's a chance disgraced Baylor President Ken Starr could join the Trump administration. That's all Trump needs: Someone with no sound judgment.

What The . . . ????????
Grand Prairie woman sentenced to 8 years prison, $5,000 on each of 2 counts of illegal voting. Guilty of voter fraud https://t.co/tgpi7jTy6y— Mitch Mitchell (@mitchmitchel3) February 9, 2017
The Tarrant County DA's office once cut a deal of five years for a Wise County woman convicted of solicitation of murder after the jury sentenced her to a twenty-five years.
D.A. Sharen Wilson needs to fix this.
Edit: The Texas AG's office prosecuted this case? The guy under indictment?
Random Thursday Morning Thoughts
- I received a comment that two very active commentators from a long time ago were now divorced from their spouses and now married to each other. Is that true? (Email me.) If true, I truly hope they are happy. ("Liberally Lean -- bringing people together for almost 10 years.") Edit: This sentence has been edited after a commentor called me out on how horribly worded it was originally. Thanks. But maybe that commentor will also find love someday.
- I love all you guys who thought that just because Zuzu was buried in a shallow grave means she was murdered. Think, people. Think!
- This is the guy who shut down Sen. Elizabeth Warren reading a letter from Coretta Scott King during a debate on Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
- All cops in Wise County are mic'd up these days and recorded on DVD for any case that is filed. Some irrelevant conversations that are recorded give me great entertainment. Example: When a guy who was arrested started talking about a great Mexican restaurant a cop replied,"Was it Pulidos?"
- Let's check in on the Toddler in Chief this morning. He's attacking a war hero for no reason. Incredible. #IfYouVotedForHimYouOwnHim:
- Eighth Grader in the House to me last night: "You know that 'immigrant' can be spelled with an 'e' and it means someone leaving the country, right?" Me: "That's not true." And from there, it all went downhill as she and Mrs. LL did a happy dance.
- Kellaynne Conway looks like she is on meth.
- Jane McGarry might rival Christie Brinkley:
- I forgot to mention that I correctly predicted Jerry Jones would get into the Hall of Fame. Once again, proving I'm a Sports Genius.
- On Friday, I posted a censored comment of someone who was very angry with me. Someone commented on that post that the guy had to be crazy and I that should look out for a "truck full of fertilizer" showing up. This is what was outside my always vacant parking lot by my office this morning.
- Funny tweet I saw yesterday: Which will come first? Trump being impeached or committed?

How Dumb Is He?
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2017
Trump just promoted his daughter's business. And then he used the official Twitter account of the President of the United States to retweet it! (Once you get past this crazy unethical conduct, you have to wonder why he doesn't realize he has more important things to be concerned about this morning.)

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts
- Fox 4 had a graphic last night during a story about Zuzu which read, "College Student Murdered." Has that been established yet?
- They also had a story about a road in Decatur ISD's jurisdiction which is so bad because of potholes that school buses can't go down it. (It looks like it is a private road.) Didn't the County Commissioners decide to annex and maintain a road going to David's Western Wear off of 287 a couple of months back? Priorities?
- So Sen. Elizabeth Warren was shut down in the Senate yesterday for reading a letter from 1986 by Coretta Scott King in opposition to Jeff Sessions -- then a federal district judge nominee and now the attorney general nominee, Nice optics, boys. (Note: He couldn't even get confirmed back then because of racist views. And that was in 1986. It was hard to be considered a racist in Washington in 1986.)
- When Trump spoke in front of the CIA’s Memorial Wall a couple of weeks back he said the had been on the cover of Time magazine more than any other anyone. What a lie. He had been on it 11 times. Richard Nixon was on it 55 times. President Obama was on it 12 times in 2008 alone. And why do his followers not care about his habitual lies?
- I don't need to run for a local election. I need to be a behind-the-scenes campaign manager. If I could only get my friends to say in public what they tell me in private.
- Trump this morning. They need more weapons? They are already militarized.
- Trump said this morning that the Judiciary/Separation of Power is "politics" in the case about his Muslim ban:
- He may be the greatest gift that Liberally Lean has ever received.
- Lt. Governor Dan Patrick wants the Texas Rangers to investigate the theft of Tom Brady's jersey. I agree with Craig Miller of the Ticket: He is the biggest moron in Texas politics in the history of ever.

Trump Wants To Destroy The Career Of A Texas Lawmaker
The President of the United States smirked and said he would "destroy the career" of a state senator. Everyone laughed. Is this America? https://t.co/BWiIOdQrEz— Peter Daou (@peterdaou) February 7, 2017
That lawmaker wants to reform the law regarding civil forfeiture where the government takes money and property even if there is no criminal conviction. (Even that goofy Texas Supreme Court justice has strongly suggested that it's time for reform.)
The Sheriff might be referring to State Senator Konni Burton who is very conservative, very pro-Ted Cruz, and very anti-Trump.
Edit: As of 10:00 p.m., the Sheriff is such a coward that he still won't tell us who he was referring to.
