- Barry Held Hostage: Day 6. Ted Koppel has to be thinking about firing up Nightline again.
- Other than one brief night in the hospital 15 years ago, I've never been through anything like before.
- It's insane. You get out of be and an alarm goes off.A sweet attendant will show up and will stay with you until you walk back to bed.
- If you simply want to walk down the hall, one of them must come with you.(And they walk with you like your a toddler yet I'm fine!) Strangest think I've ever seen. (Then again when they give me dope at 4:00 and then I have to walk a ways two hours later I might look like a toddler).
- If get to my feet and either Mrs. ll or the staff asks me for the billion time, "What are you doing?, Local law enforcement will have the joy of locking me up because I will go on a rampage.
- I know why health care costs so much: I meet with doctors, aides, physical therapists, multiple nurses, a guy who draws my blood, a guy who monitors my blood pressure, a case manager, a CNA, etc. I even had a lady come in to watch me eat to see if I was "swallowing correctly." And that doesn't begin to calculate the cost of the analysis of the blood and other interpretations of the tests.
- Then throw in a MRI, CAT. EKG, and EEG and the price is through the roof. And that doesn't even factor in the hospital room and the extreme cost of a band-aid. Good lord.
- Don't get me wrong, the health care I have received has been excellent, it is the cost that is out of control.
- Yesterday, two different nurses asked me if Mrs. LL was my daughter.
- I wish I had Anthony Bourdain's career.
- Lake Bridgeport level is 2.5 feet over conservation level this morning and rising. And, by the way, the lake is CLOSED.
- LAKE WORTH - Fort Worth police found a body in Lake Worth on Saturday morning."

I Have No Idea What Is Going On With
About last week...
This Blog's been acting crazy, the backspace won't work, and their are some strange Arab names at the top. And sometimes the screen will just go dark. The thing is over five years old and, for the first time I might consider a MacBook;
Secondly, I wrote almost Random Thoughts on (prescription drugs.) That' my excuse and I'm sticking it to it.
Thirdly, all the doctors say I'm on my way to full rehab recovery center. But they won't release me and won't let me get out of bed without a walker, go outside on my own I'm on the verge of waling out and screaming "Attica!Attiua!" They won't say it but I think I had a mini Stroke.
Anyway, I' heard that the new facility has basically no Internet acce ss so I may open up Random Thoughts to Faithful Readers. Leave your name or handle below if you are interested.

I have no idea what's going on with this blog
- The timeline is screwed up and things I posted disappeared or didn't post.
- To those that care, I'm still in the hospital. Everything looks good, but I might be here for 2 or 3 more weeks. You might expect some downtime in the meantime, but rest assured I'll be back blogging very soon.
- There seems to be a lack of steady internet connection along with laptop technical difficulties. There may be more postings from Mrs. LL relayed from me.
- I'm planning on getting healthy over the next 2-3 weeks.
- I appreciate the prayers, positive thoughts and those that have visited as opposed to the very easy target of kicking me in nuts.
- As Spock would say, "Live Long and Prosper".

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts
- Hey, now.
- There can, and often will be, a driver's license suspension after a DWI. You can fight it, but it is very hard to win. In the past, the hearings for Wise County arrests used to be in Fort Worth. Now they are in Denton. But "the government"actually called me if I thought the change was appropriate. I said yes. (My friends in the Fort Worth office acted like they would miss me.)
- The greatest part yesterday, for my first hearing there, was when I was roaming around the fourth floor of the Denton County Courthouse looking for the right room and a DPS Trooper directed me as to where to go. (I later pointed out to the judge about his kindness.)
- I hate new routines. I am a man of routines.
- Cruz will win Wisconsin. 100% guarantee. But that doesn't mean Trump won't win in the end.
- There's a foundation repair ad on The Ticket which says that their fee is low that "their lawyer" won't let them say it. STAY AWAY! The dishonesty is shocking.
- The end of the NCAA Championship game last night will be remembered for years.
- "SOUTHLAKE - Juan Jesus Guerrero Chapa, the lawyer fatally shot in Southlake in 2013, acted as the 'de facto head' of a Mexican drug cartel, was running 'a large criminal enterprise,' attorneys for one of the men charged in Guerrero’s death allege in a new court filing."
- I got my annual letter from the Texas State Bar that read "Urgent. Official Ballot Enclosed" for the election of the President of the State Bar of Texas. Dear State Bar: Whomever is elected has no power and I don't care. There is nothing "Urgent" about it.
- I have never seen "One Shining Moment" at the end of the game. I move on.
- It is confusing that men's NCAA games are the only one which doesn't have quarters.

What A Crazy Time In History
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is slain in Memphis on this day in 1968. https://t.co/aOazNJfuXZ pic.twitter.com/t7ryM1YtlI— NYT Archives (@NYTArchives) April 4, 2016
Random Monday Morning Thoughts
- I know someone who will be pleased with this pic: Bacon.
- Dear Sweet The Ticket: Two straight segments on hockey on Friday during Bob and Dan? That has to be paid for and mandated by management. And an absolute way to kill your station. "Cumulus - The Power of Radio."
- I had a refrigerator delivered and they took out the old and put in the new in about five minutes. They charged me $15 to take away the old one. Guys, I would have paid $150. Or more.
- I could stare at Lake Bridgeport forever
- So what is up with that new "Majestic" sign on the Wise County square?
- I've got into a habit of taking The Family Pups to work on Friday and it makes the office incredibly happy.
- A local attorney, who refers to himself as "The Decatur Hammer" (comedy), reminded me of an event in my life almost 20 years ago. I was leaving Colonial Country Club during the tournament with two buddies in the car. My phone rang and my VERY high tone girlfriend chewed me out for some reason. I then hung up and began talking about how much I really despised her. After five minutes one of my buddies looked down at my phone and points. I had not hung up. The phone was still on. Oh, my! I picked it up and meekly, praying that she had hung up, and said, "Honey? Baby?" I then hear, "UH HUH!" Man, I paid for that.
- If I lose as running as an Independent, I might search for something else -- in two years. Right out of House of Cards.
- This is Opening Day and probably the only day I will care about baseball.
- It begins: "Charges dismissed against dozens of Waco bikers, lawyer says." The DA implies that he is simply going to refine the charges but I bet this is the beginning of the end. You can "amend" an indictment without dismissing it. Or maybe he isn't smart enough to know that. This will be a disaster.
- Baylor has announced a home and home with BYU a few years out. I told Mrs. LL, "Darlin' we are going to Utah!"
- My goal in life is to live it in incognito. I went to Lowe's this weekend and a sweet clerk looked at me and said, "Oh, you are back!" And I had a cap and glasses on.
- Early last Friday morning Cumulus ran three ads in 20 minutes on The Ticket to convince us that radio is thriving and perfect for advertising. That means they couldn't find anyone to buy those spots.
- I winked at someone on Friday. I never wink.
- Trump will not rule out running as a third party candidate. Game. Changer.
- Mrs. LL went out in the kayak this weekend . . . and then dropped her phone in the lake.
- There is no way Amtrak has lost over a billion dollars for five straight years. Those numbers cannot be right.
- Over 100,000? Idiocracy . . .

Random Friday Morning Thoughts
- The Alabama governor is involved in a sex scandal and an NBA player records a teammate talking about cheating on his fiancee and it gets released. In this day and time, you will be busted.
- I'm just glad I'm too old to even think about it and just want to go home at the end of the day.
- Kudos to the DA employees for having the paperwork ready yesterday even before I got there.
- I went back and listened to the Supreme Court announcing it's decision in Lawrence v. Texas. I've listened to oral arguments and read opinions but I had never listen to them "announce" a decision. It's fascinating. And Scalia sounded like a crazy man but he did make a prediction: The decision will lead to the legalization of same sex marriage.
- I'm trying to get caught up on the mini-series The People vs. O.J. Simpson. Man, it is good.
- The missing mother who was found dead days later in her car in a Target parking lot in Frisco with her three young children inside may be the weirdest story I've ever heard of.
- There is a play in Denton of Glengarry Glen Ross. I loved that movie and Alec Baldwin was fantastic. And the actors in it in addition to him are legendary: Kevin Spacey, Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alan Arkin, and Ed Harris. Always Be Closing.
- One of the funniest shows no one remembers: Space Ghost Coast to Coast
- Wordkyle: Unemployment has risen to 5%!!!
- Hanson Aggregates is having an open house for their quarry between Bridgeport and Chico. You know, I'm interested. If you ever flown over it or looked at it on satellite view, the whole concept is fascinating.

I'm So Confused
The Supreme Court of Texas hears cases at Baylor Law School. https://t.co/MpYzM5BRB0 pic.twitter.com/4SCNEVolG5— Baylor Lariat (@bulariat) March 31, 2016
Why are all those officers there in the photo? It looks like a photo opp for "we support law enforcement" but that doesn't make sense because the Texas Supreme Court does not have criminal jurisdiction.
