Mildly Entertaining

Chasin' Burglars . . .

. . . is gonna get a couple of Wise County residents on TV. This is Channel 8 Channel 5 doing an interview on the courthouse steps a few moments ago. (And, man, my camera lens must have been a little smeared.) Edit: The Channel 5 story on its web site is here.

Am I The Only One . . .

. . . that thinks its just a little sad to see the NFL Rushing Champion doing this stuff? As a side note, Troy Aikman said on The Ticket last week that he was offered the gig but turned it down immediately because "I can't dance." But he did say that they were offering a "pretty good sum of money" to participate. He didn't say how much.

Star-Telegram Story . . .

. . . on the crash that killed a teenager yesterday in Wise County. (Here).

MyDeathRowSpace.com

Looks like there is some publicity arising over Texas death row inmates who have their own myspace page (designed, or course, by friends and family.) Here is one of for Randy Halprin who is on death row for killing an Irving cop as one of the Texas Seven. My favorite part: "Besides all of that... I think I'm a pretty funny guy. I have a wacked sense of humor. I can be a big kid at heart. I'm a hopeless (and I mean HOPELESS) romatic. I pray that I will find that woman who can love and accept me for who I am, for my situation, for all of my flaws. I gotta whole lot of love to give ;-)" Warning: If you've never clicked on a myspace page before, prepare to overloaded with ridiculous graphics, design, and music.

I Have Found . . .

. . . what I will send to my enemies for Christmas.

Day #6 Of The Break Up

And Britney still looks OK. I'll keep you posted. Edit: Things may not be going well after all.

Remind Me Never To Buy A Harley

A round-up of photos from an annual Harley gathering in upstate New York. (Warning: Some will find a couple of them offensive. I'm just offended by the body size.)

I Visit Stadiums . . .

. . . but I don't recreate them with Legos. This is Ohio State's stadium. (Source.)

Political Junkies

If you want to see a precinct by precinct break down of last week's election, local Republican Chairman D.A. Sharpe tells me they are posted here.

I Haven't Decided If . . .

I think the new Pat Tillman statue is cool or creepy.

Whatcha Gonna Do?

A courthouse administrative assistant who will remain nameless (Mary) went home for lunch today and saw two four guys burglarizing her home. The guys fled in their own vehicle, and sweet Mary, being the scared and timid person that she is, decided to pursue them by car. I'm not exactly sure what happened next other than a few calls to the police prompted an all out manhunt and a police scanner frenzy. I think the guys were caught, but I haven't confirmed this. Mary's fine although she will be forever known as the girl that proclaimed shortly after the chase, "My car can do 113 mph!"

What the?

More here. And it was stolen from BagOfNothing.com (Which I steal from way too much.)

I Cannot Justify Posting This

And Yet Again

But check out who the teacher is married to.

Everyone Gets A Trophy. No One Is A Loser.

The 5A division of Texas high school football is sending FOUR teams from each district to the playoffs this year. Incredible. But as I was looking around trying to find the worst records of some 5A team that was headed to the playoffs, I came across a couple of 3A teams that should never, ever be in the playoffs with those records. That would be Andrews v. Levelland. And what's up with that Fort Stockton bye?

T.O. At Post Game Press Conference Today

I gots to get me some of those.

This Will Be In The Update Tomorrow

Decatur won the state championship in boy's cross-country this weekend. Some Decatur kid named Scott Harrison, who runs faster than I ever thought of, finished second with a time of 16:11.65. (I think the distance is a little over three miles, but I don't much about cross-country.)
