Everyone Gets A Trophy. No One Is A Loser.
The 5A division of Texas high school football is sending FOUR teams from each district to the playoffs this year. Incredible.
But as I was looking around trying to find the worst records of some 5A team that was headed to the playoffs, I came across a couple of 3A teams that should never, ever be in the playoffs with those records. That would be Andrews v. Levelland.
And what's up with that Fort Stockton bye?
This Will Be In The Update Tomorrow
Decatur won the state championship in boy's cross-country this weekend.
Some Decatur kid named Scott Harrison, who runs faster than I ever thought of, finished second with a time of 16:11.65. (I think the distance is a little over three miles, but I don't much about cross-country.)
I'm Going To Counseling
Why didn't I celebrate the demise of my most hated college nemesis? Why do I feel a little sad? Why am I saying if Colt McCoy hadn't been knocked senseless as an MHMR patient that Texas would have won?
I don't know.
The world is just better when the Yankees, the Cowboys, and . . . dare I say it . . . the Longhorns are on top. We all need someone to hate. And it's better when those we hate are deserving of our hatred.
I now question everything I've ever believed.
I'm So Mad That I Missed . . .
. . . Celebrity Jeopardy last week. Nancy Grace, my most hated person in the history of ever, was on the show competing against Regis Philbin and some guy from Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.
I looked on The Google and found this snippet (from another blog) regarding the results:
Grace, whose smile is a perpetual sneer and whose Southern accent quickly becomes even more annoying escaping from it, did show a little bit of likeability when she said she objected to the audience and that they were sucking up to Regis. In the end, Regis won by one dollar. Nancy Grace came in third, proving once again that sometimes, good does indeed triumph over dark, horrible, retching, unfathomable evil. The Democrats win the Senate and the House. Rumsfeld resigns. Britney gets divorced . . . . All in the space of 48 hours. It's as if God has woken up and all is right in the world.
