That would be . . .

. . . DFW land and the end of the trip.

Me On A Plane

I'm pretty sure I saw Babe Laufenberg (sp) sitting in first class.

And I'm currently engaging in racial profiling as a security precaution. I wonder if I should be concerned.about the guy next to me bowing towards Mecca?

"We're Waiting For One More Volunteer"

. . . and the very snooty boarding agent continues her threat of not letting us board. She actually said "The clock is ticking." What does that mean? Like the plane is gonna take off empty if we aren't boarded in time? [And as a complete sidenote, all you Ticket fans out there might want to take a look at this from Saturday night. The rest of you won't understand so don't bother.]

Overbooked

Al lright, we've got some American Airlines overbooking going on. I just got this announcement over the loudspeaker (paraphrased): Ladies and gentlemen we are overbooked for this flight, and we are looking for four volunteers to give up their seats. In exchange, we will provide you with a $250 travel voucher and we will put you on a different flight, maybe with a different airline, to get you where you need to go. Unfortunately, we will not be able to begin boarding until this issue is resolved. I'm not budging. But I will have the joy of being in a sealed tube with every single seat taken. Triple ugh.

But Checking The DMN As I Wait To Board . . .

. . . these two stories do not appear to be a good omen.

So Far, So Good

But it's very odd flying on 9/11. You get to wake up to the news re-living that day, drive to the airport with it all over the radio, and then get to walk through airport security. The crowds look a little small (but I really don't know what Jacksonville International normally looks like on a Monday morning). But they do have the funky walk-in-a-booth-and-get-shot-with-air-blasts-looking-for-explosives machine. I passed with flying colors.

I'm Ready To Come Home

That's What I'm Talking About

At the end of the game, I snuck down to the first row. I have no idea who the guy was that made the last interception to end the game, but he came right in front of me. This is what I snapped. Hopefully, I made national TV in the wide shot - I'll have to check out the recorded game on my TIVO when I get home.
