Don't Let The Bedbugs . . .

The Today Show is doing another feature on bedbugs this morning. I swear they do this story every two weeks! There was even an interview of Gary Alpert of Harvard University to discuss this "problem". And they even brought a bed on stage to show how you should examine it to look for the little critters. And they assigned, appropriately enough, Ann Curry to do the story. I can't help but picture Ann with bedbugs devouring her body.

I saw Boy George sweeping the streets of New York, a quasi-revealing pic of Lindsay Lohan, a recall of Dell computer laptops, and Kate Hudson separating from her husband. None were worthy of a link. I promise to do better.

The Cowboys-Seahawks exhibition game pulled a ridiculously high 14.2 rating on Saturday night. How ridiculous is it? That's better than Game 2 of the Mavericks-Suns playoff series, which pulled a 13.7. Heck, the 6-game Mavericks-Suns series averaged a 16.4.

As School Starts Up

DMN columnist Steve Blow had an unusually insightful column yesterday. An excerpt: Here's the myth: Schools educate children. Don't fall for it! Too many children have suffered already. Let me explain. Of course schools can help educate a child. But just like a book or a pencil, a school is only a tool. And a tool can only do so much. A book can't open itself. A pencil has no words of its own. And schools alone can't educate. Parents must be in charge of their children's education. To put it plainly: The success or failure of your child's education is up to you.

This, I believe.

I seriously doubted that so I looked it up. The graphic from CNN indicates that the old guy wasn't exactly right but its still hot.
