Puuleeeze

The Morning News had an article yesterday about Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes. He is recovering well from two strokes he suffered during the season. But the story was about how stubborn he is - even while the stroke was taking place. After denying he was having a problem to his wife (he had crawled to the bathroom), he also was uncooperative after arriving at the hospital because they asked him to get in a wheelchair. "That was hard for me - to get in a wheelchair," he said. "You lose your manhood." Sheesh.

Worlds Collide

Lindsey Lohan and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas (who I think have a new song out that is based on theme to Pulp Fiction).

Super Bowl

I think something called the Super Bowl is being played tomorrow. The Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback is some guy named Ben Roethlisberger. I want to hang out with him.

Tiger and Me

I noticed that after winning the Buick Open last week in San Diego, Tiger Woods is playing a tournament in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. (And he received a $3 million appearance fee to do so). For the record, I had a driver's license hearing in Fort Worth on Monday, and I was in Jacksboro on Friday for a docket call. Scoreboard.

When I'm Bored, I Jump Over Bulls

Broken Flowers

I kinda liked this odd Bill Murray movie that no one has seen.

It's about a 50 something year old guy who gets an anonymous letter from an old girlfriend that tells him he has an 18 year old son. And, surprise, he has just hit the road to look for his father. Murray then goes on an odyssey to visit every possible old girlfriend to find out which old girlfriend is the mother. Confusing, but he just shows up on their doorsteps. Pretty good stuff.

Rachel McAdams

Hall Of Fame

Troy Aikman made it to pro football's Hall of Fame today. (Michael Irvin missed the cut). I think Aikman may be the most boring speaker on the face of the planet, but I'll give him credit for spending most of his time today thanking those that helped get him there. And he made a special effort to thank Jerry Jones. For all of you that criticize Jerry, I don't understand it. Jones wants to win and spends a ton of money to get there. You couldn't ask for anything more.

Hold Me

At the end of the State of the Union message, Bush gently grasped the face of Henry Cuellar who happens to be a Democratic Representative from Texas. Then the pic circulates around the Internet making Democrats less that pleased. The result: In the days following the loving interaction between the two, Ciro Rodriguez' (his Democratic political opponent) received 263 cyber contributions totaling nearly $12,000.

Bad Aggie

Eyebrows were raised when Texas A&M recruit Terrence McCoy made the following statement to a Midland reporter: "They take care of you down there," McCoy said. "I know from my brother they keep your pockets full, give you plenty of money, keep feeding you meals. Besides that all the help they give you with football. They keep you on your grades with private tutoring. Just good all-around." The funny thing is how buried that quote was in a run of the mill article in Midland-Reporter Telegram

So Long, Grandpa

Grandpa Munster has died. (But wasn't that an odd concept for a show? Especially back then).

Hmmmmm

I wonder if Pamela Anderson is celebrating Chinese New Year some where? Oh, my.

My 2 Seconds of Fame

Speaking of odd, I was quoted in the Dallas Morning News today in an article about former KZEW DJ John Rody. The quote seems so out of place. My friends will have a huge question mark form over their heads if they read it (which they probably won't). (If you want to know how I ended up in the story, the Morning News reporter called me because I wrote this a few years ago).

I Hate Blogger

Six posts were deleted by this stupid website that I pay nothing for. Edit: I can't believe I said "stupid website"

I Wonder . . .

. . . if there is an Italian Lingerie fashion show going on? Oh, my.

The World Is Safe Again

The Stokes guy who was on the run (see the post below with the book-in photos) has turned himself in according to our High Sheriff.
