Random Monday Morning Thoughts

Fifty-six years old and a part-owner of Oklahoma City Thunder.

  • Dangerous times in Wise County:
  • With no plausible explanation as to why and with no end game in sight, Trump started a war with Iran over the weekend without Congressional authorization.

    • With an announcement this morning, there are now four U.S. servicemen who have died so far. That's just "the way it is."

    • Three U.S. jets have been shot down by friendly fire.

    • Trump has yet to address the nation live or hold a press conference. He has only released two videos on social media and, last night, after returning to Washington, he avoided questions and stood far away in the dark. Weird.
    • Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth was in front of the cameras this morning and engaged in some truly Orwellian speech.

    • The only question is whether the girls died due to an Israeli or U.S. missile. (No, it wasn't a failed Iranian weapon.) The school was next to to a targeted strike and actually used to be part of the Iranian base.
    • This is the first time the U.S. and Israel have ever teamed up to start a war. There's probably a reason for that.
    • This guy is in charge.
  • Dateline Austin. He wore a hoodie that read “Property of Allah” over a T-shirt bearing an Iranian flag design,  Although he had been in the U.S. since 2007 and was a naturalized citizen, this is just going to fan the anti-Muslim rhetoric. (Video from inside the bar after police have arrived -- disturbing.)

  • This shooting in Fort Worth occurred at  3:40 a.m. in the morning in a very odd place just a stone's throw from Meachum airport. Streetview.

  • I couldn't let this weirdness in Corpus Christi from Friday go unnoticed. Video.

  • Sports:
    • A quarterback at the University of Colorado died in a car crash.
    • "Source: The Texas Rangers have reached a pre-agreement with 12-year-old Dominican prospect Andel PĂ©rez for a $4.0 million signing bonus."
