Random Monday Morning Thoughts

I normally wouldn't post about weather, but receiving 10 inches in November, with almost all of it falling over two days, was something.

  • This is awful. Messenger story (free).

  • Story.

  • At 2:38 a.m. Sunday morning, Fort Worth Police and Fire/EMS responded to a shooting at Flips Patio Grill in north Fort Worth near Western Center and I-35.

  • A mass shooting you probably missed: "At least four people, including three children, were killed and 11 others wounded in a mass shooting that erupted on Saturday evening at a child's birthday party at a banquet hall in Stockton, California, authorities said."

  • You'll often hear about a car crashing into a business, but this one by a 90 year old in California had quite the photo associated with it. The business was closed at the time.

  •  Hegseth ordered a second strike in order to kill two survivors.  Gift link. So maybe there was a reason for those four Senators to do a PSA telling the military they didn't have to follow illegal orders.

    • Hegseth mocked the controversy last night with a cartoon.

  • Meanwhile, since the continued killing of unknown people in boats is justified by the Administration by citing the War on Drugs, we had this pardon news below. “He paved a cocaine superhighway to the United States, protected by machine guns,” prosecutors said in their closing arguments ahead of his conviction.

  • Speaking of laws not longer applying.

  • What are we doing?  She had been in the U.S. since she was seven.

  • Welcome to the Autocracy.   Rule #1 is to discredit the media, one of Trump's ploys from the very beginning. And now the White House web site makes it official policy.

  • Random Trump. Video.

  • The Business Second™.  Five buildings. Thirty-seven full time jobs.

  • No one has had wilder departures from their jobs than Lane Kiffin.  As he leaves playoff bound Ole Miss for LSU, all of his exist are ranked below.  There are links under the tweet to stories for all of them.

  • Due to weather delays, the Southlake v. Prosper football playoff game didn't kickoff until 11:14 p.m. on Friday night and didn't finish until 1:42 a.m. on Saturday morning.
