Your readers don't understand that they were already subsidizing the healthcare costs of the poor people long before Obamacare. This won't change that, though your persistence is lauded.

My prayers for Julia Louis-Dreyfus and all who have been touched by cancer. Maybe in our lifetime, maybe.

Spanish JackAss, Us readers understand that. Julia evidently doesn't. Stay Woke!!

As long as it remains more profitable to treat illness instead of curing it, it will never be cured.

Money drives innovation and new medicines to treat and cure common and rare diseases. Universal healthcare allows the government to decide what type of care you receive and it is always the cheapest option. If the pharmaceutival companies aren't making money, then they will not innovate and deliver cures. If you want universal healthcare, take care of yourselves now. Because when you become ill, you will get the cheap out dated generic treatment options.

I don't give two shits if she or one of the uninsured sluts dies from cancer as long as it doesn't cost my family one cent more.

My, my, how very Christian of you.

First, blue link below my comment, says "Reply". Click it some time.

Second, where the hell is your reading comprehension? I swear, you've got to be a bot.

The part of me that realizes we've landed spacecraft on comets also makes me think there's a lot of truth here.

I'm not a Christian, I quit church at a very young age because I thought it was all nonsense. Turns out I was right.

Can we start with the eradication of ragweed? This plant serves no purpose except lining the pockets of allergists or other doctors, pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies. Costs us billions annually in productivity loss due to folks calling in sick. And how many drivers are on the road right now completely buzzing on antihistamines?

HispanicArmedConflictMule - Depending on how you access the comments, there isn't necessarily a "Reply" link. Just FYI.

In theory, universal health care sounds great.......so does communism......in theory!!!! There's almost nothing I despise more than a greedy ass pharmaceutical company..........with the exception to an inept and controlling government. If the government ever truly gets control.......you will be told you are too fat, old, sick beyond help, you were a smoker, you were too casual with your sexual escapades for us to spend the money to treat you. The haves (people in power) will have great affordable access and the rest of us will be tossed aside. How in the world anyone can be for universal health care is beyond me. With that said, what we have had for far too long isn't great ether. Like 1:24 said.......you better stay healthy and make good choices with respect to your health.

She's a billionaire. Why use insurance? Why not build a new cancer wing onto a hospital?

Regarding "universal" health care, look at history. How'd the US Government do with the VA? "Nearly 100 patients died waiting for care from Los Angeles VA". (CBS News)
That touted British system? "British Government Hospitals To Bar Smokers & Overweight Patients From Surgery, Due To Budget Constraints" (Forbes)

"Universal" - yeah, right. Except for those the government either neglects or deems unfit to treat.

Spanish Jackass, get bitch slapped much?

That is a fairly sensible comment from you Skippy Guy. Makes more sense than a lot of your other drivellings.

The military has universal healthcare. The care is fine. Try to take it away from them and hear the wailing.

Leave it to a self-absorbed, uninformed, liberal celebrity to turn her personal health matter into a political statement. You have to be gobsmacked at the tone deafness of someone touting the benefits of having private group insurance while demanding "universal health care" for the plebs.

The truth about "universal health care" means everyone gets Medicaid. Good luck finding a doctor who accepts Medicaid. Of course, there are socialist Democrats like Bernie and Warren promoting "Medicare for all" and ignoring the fact, people on Medicare have paid into it for FORTY YEARS. Medicare recipients pay on average $400 per month in premiums for Parts A and B coverage, as well as purchase an individual Medigap/Supplemental policy that costs between $300-$500. Oh, and let's not forget the annual deductible of $2000. Soooo, how is "Medicare for all" an improvement over current coverage/costs when Medicare costs $700-$900 a month PER PERSON? Let's not forget, Medicare is one of those expenditures that is bankrupting the US.

Spot on. As a person nearing retirement, I am concerned about the following:

Medical coverage at $900 each = $1800
Home insurance at $300 per month
Car insurance at $200 per month
medications at $500 per month

That's $2800 per month with no job. Will SS keep up? I doubt it.
My retirement between my wife and I will be about $5,000 per month.

I had better start buying the freeze dried food now while I am working so we will be a able to eat in our old age.

After 50 years of working by my wife and I, and we still wont be able to survive without some kind of work involved.

And I have close to $1 million in retirement savings.

Posting as Anon just because.
