A personal moment of silence is all that's needed. For prayer, daydreams, whatever. The Texas allegiance pledge is a bit silly now, too; and awkward for people that might love it in Texas, but also love and call "home" the place they are from. Heck, why not have a city pledge, and just get right down to the details. "I pledge allegiance to Runaway Bay...one...and indivisible...with liberty and john boats for all".
I have a niece that just completed a year of clerking for the 5th Circuit. She was in the Jackson MS location. She has some good stories.
I pledge allegiance to Decatur, with libertines and wife swapping for all.
This is why I'm for school vouchers. give the public schools to the atheists and the agnostics. They can wallow in their lack of morals all by themselves.
And those people should go home.
Keep the church out of our schools.
1:32I pledge allegiance to Chico...one...and indivisible...with liberty and port-a-potties for all.
You're a dork Barry.
"If a believer demands that I, as a nonbeliever, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect, but for my submission." ~ Flemming Rose The question is, do you submit?
This was already decided by the Supreme Court, Greece v. Galloway, 2014.
The Supreme Court ruling from 2014 clarifies and supports the Appeals Court decision. The other two cases to which you refer are from 2005 (California) and 2011 (Delaware). This information is in the Court's ruling, so please refrain from your poorly constructed alarmism.
I think it's great that prayer before football games was eliminated because it gave more devout schools a competitive advantage over the more heathen schools. You can see how it leveled the playing field for the schools having to face the Boyd football team.
Sweet.....I can finally start praying to Odin in public.
