It's about time Henson "quit". It was long overdue. He should of "quit" about ten years ago. Good riddance. Not going to miss him one bit. Hopefully the new AD will be just that, an AD and not just football director.

He didn't quit this is was done by Bland so the headlines wouldn't say fired. He will be on the payroll til January next year if they wanted him he could of coached next season.

Bland needs to be gone next for standing up for Henson! Henson could care less about any other team or sport. He was Varsity football and that was it. Good riddance!!

So glad to see Henson gone. Should have happened a long time ago. Absolutely no leadership or coaching skills.

Henson certainly didn't care about kids. It's about time Bridgeport that you get rid of him. Best decision the district has ever made!

Prediction-will be a vacancy for the sup job in Decatur soon. If not, every sitting board member will lose their position. Teachers and parents are fed up. He does nothing. He doesn't even know employee names. He gives us that hey, I don't know your name but I will pretend I do when we get a rare visit on our campus.

sounds like a lot of complaining about Henson from mommies and daddies whose little darlings weren't nearly as good as their parents they thought. most of them probably don't even have kids in school anymore and probably also follow that hawkes dude on twitter

It was time to move on. 23 years in one place is a long time. Sometimes new blood generates motivation by players and parents. New faces amongst the halls will not be a bad thing either. The last few years it has been a real struggle to support what was happening in the program.

All of you complaining about Football, What about the failing academics?

Maybe they need a new leader at BHS as well. When they hired a principal I'm sure they thought they were getting one with strong leadership and academic skills. Instead they got a party planner! Remember, teachers and coaches can only be as good as their leaders! We have put academics on the back burner, so to speak.
