  • Johnny Depp can do a really good Trump impersonation. And that's why he's your RTG of the day.
  • The Ticket's Corby Davidson got smacked in the forehead last night during a broadcast. Honestly, I'm shocked that doesn't happen more often. I've listened to those broadcasts. 
  • I can't wait for football to no longer be relevant. Two players were sent to the hospital, one vis helicopter, after a head to head collision
  • Baylor and Waco has tried to keep the campus' bad side quiet, but, "Outside the Lines has obtained documents that detail largely unknown allegations of sexual assault, domestic violence and other acts of violence involving several Baylor football players." Why is it that Outside the Lines is the one to go after this story? 
  • I now am scouting locations for a new LL mansion on the cliffs of East Bay. 
  • UNT applied for a liqour license. I have a feeling that is going to be a bad idea.
  • Death in media: Morley Safer, CNN correspondent dies at 84. I still have the 60 minutes episode that aired on 5/15/16 about his life story on the dvr to watch.
  • Carpal Tunnel is a real thing. I've had surgery to correct that very painful problem and will go for round two this summer. A nameless person commented and calling it fake. No way they actually believe that, right?
  • The Senior in the House has a Senior Luncheon, two Senior Dinners and Senior Sunday at church this weekend. The 7th Grader in the House is leaving Monday for a five day school trip touring Texas. Another weekend without sleeping in. I'm not sure I'll get to even sneak a nap in. #GraduatingProblems Summer can't get here quick enough. 
  • The Kids in the House and most of their friends call Barry, Bubear.

The Texas Supreme Court ruled that the current way to fund schools (taxes on property) is really unfair but not unconstitutional -- so it stays in place.
A "Davey" in Bridgeport called into The Ticket this week.
Texas Rangers have a new Bloody Mary at The Ballpark.

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • Texas Rangers had 14 players with suspensions. Odor was also fined $5000 so a fan started a GoFundMe page
  • Predictions for the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament. Golf is one of those sports that I have a hard time getting in to.
  • Wise County Weather Update from, well...The Update:
  • WET START – Rain was falling on commuters headed in to work this morning. Rainfall totals as of 7:30 a.m. included 0.85 of an inch in Greenwood, 0.79 in Decatur, 0.5 in Alvord, 0.42 in Bridgeport and 0.27 in Rhome. Oncor Area Manager Sabrina Easley reported 1,200 customers without power as of 7:30 in Alvord and Runaway Bay. Both areas have been out since around 5:30 a.m. when the storms came through. The forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of rain today and a 40 percent chance tonight. Rain chances remain in the forecast through Friday.
  • Prosper woman sentenced to two years in prison for having sex with her son's 15 year old friend. Kinda light punishment.
  • I found what I need Barry to get me for Christmas. I may need to start a GoFundMe to help him out. 
  • "Exactly 62 years ago, on May 17, 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that segregated schools were unconstitutional." What year is this?
  • Cute, but don't get me this doggie.

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts


  • Look into those cute puppy eyeballs and tell me you don't want to adopt it. I Miss Snuggles 
  • Cigarette tax per pack may increase in Oklahoma from $1.50 to $2.00. Missiouri's tax rate is only $0.17. It's a little hard to compete with that.
  • It's been one year since the Waco Shootout.There was a documentary by CNN aired last night.
  • Ken Paxton is asking himself for an opinion.
  • Former Jacksboro football coach, Chuck Curtis has died. He led them to a state title in the 1960's.
  • Note to Barry: If a flower tag says to plant in full sun and you plant it in shade, it's not going to make it. Mystery solved. You're welcome.
  • Also, Barry's favorite female raunchy comedian, Sara Silverman, will be performing at WinStar.
  • I found an animal I won't be asking Barry for.
  • Throw back post Tuesday. And update to that post. I can't say I turned out to be that kind of wife. Then again, I do have a bat.
  • Also, speaking of the bat, I didn't say we don't own guns, I just mentioned that I don't like guns. I've seen the result too many times.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • We've got a 50 year old trying out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. And not bad. She also wrote her own article. 
  • Still Mrs. LL - but, yes, I'm backing off the blogging after Friday. Five more days of me and I'll let ya have Barry back. He's just about back to normal. Well, normal for him. I'm happy to report of good blood pressure and that left limp of his is gone.
  • My old stomping grounds in Abilene, Tx now has howler monkeys in their zoo. What?! That just happens to be my favorite monkey! And I love me some monkeys. A rare posted pic on the blog of Mr. and Mrs. LL.circa 2009.
  • Cue the orchestra music. I have been awakened by howler monkeys in two different countries.
  • I saw Wicked at Dallas Fair Park with my mother and both offspring in the house. The bahtrooms have extremely loud attendants to make the line move fast by directing women to open stalls. It was fantastic.
  • A trooper in the Northeast was suspended after beating a  motorist after he has surrendered after a high speed chase. It was caught on tape. There was also a lot of afters in that sentence. 
  • While driving with my mother, I asked her why the flags were all at half staff and she quickly responded, "because Trump got the Republican nomination." 
  • The defensive line coach at UT is getting a huge raise from $250,000 to $515,000. Good grief. We're all in the wrong field.
  • Benches get cleared at the Ranger's Game yesterday.
