Someone Might Want To Do Some Fact Checking

Edit: The only contract currently in place is for $170 million. Granted, that's for the planning phase. But someone tell me where the "more that $4 billion" figure came from. And the contract is for two planes, not one.

I've never heard of anything the government is involved in being over budget so yes we need to check his facts.

Did Obammy ever call for an Inspector General to investigate the 6 billion lost at the State Dept. under Hillary's watch?

HaHaHa! What are you checking???

I found articles stating that the order in 2015 was for $ 1.65 B. With the way government spending has overruns on every single project, there is no doubt that it could easily be $ 4 B right now.

$2.9B for 2 planes. That's a lot of money, so why inflate it? Why not just use the actual number? Because people who deplore government waste will still think $2.9B is too high, so why the falsity?

But here's the more troubling part of the article: Asked by reporters Tuesday morning about the tweet, [Trump] responded, "Well the plane is totally out of control. It's going to be over $4 billion for [the] Air Force One program," he said. "And I think it's ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money."

Again: "We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money."

How exactly does that fit in with free-market capitalism?

With Trump, we now live in a post-fact world. He doesn't care about facts; his supporters don't care about facts.

Duhhhh -- You don't think he may have access to just a little more information than you, do you??

There is always more than one Air Force One plane. What ever the President flies in is AF 1.

Are you really going to be this butt hurt over everything this guy says for the next 4-8 years? if so you are going to be a miserable man. let the guy take office.

I double checked my facts:

Trump won

Crooked Hillery lost

The plane is fitted with all sorts of gizmos, confidentials and unimaginables. It's got certain engines, it's got weapons, it's got the communications infrastructure of the pentagon, etc. Two of them are going to cost up there pretty high, yes.

So $2.9B is Ok? Another subject you know nothing about. Exposing waste is a good thing. Keep up the good work. I can't wait till he starts gutting the DOJ. What a cesspool.

Is Hillary still under sedation? Is it safe to let her wake up?

11:56 - You know you are enjoying Barry whining like a little tit, just like the rest of us that have been listening to him for the last 8 years.
Keep whining Barry, I've never laughed so hard and smiled so much as I have in the last few weeks!

Why do I get the feeling that this tweet is a set-up for Trump to say he will save us money by renting his personal jet to the people of the United States to use as the Presidential plane? Making him oodles of money and giving up numerous secret capabilities on security and communication that the new Boeing would have - yea, that's a great idea.

NBC News article stating the $4B is correct.

"Miller did not answer directly how Trump knew the price of the new Air Force One, but according to the latest figures, Trump is likely correct about the $4 billion price tag. Research and development is already at $2.7 billion for first two years, a number that is already budgeted and approved, and the Government Accountability Office warned last year that the cost would be approximately $3.2 billion. By the time the aircraft is delivered, the total cost will likely be over $4 billion, because the government still has to buy the two aircraft once they are built."

Hey Chuck Yeager...I know you're trying to be funny. But it's not going to happen. President requires secure communications and safety that he is not going to have on his 767.

He's complaining about spending too much money on the plane HE WILL USE. And you are complaining? You are delusional Barry. Prager would whoop your ass in any debate Mr. Pseudo-intellectual.

Is everyone here thinking Trump is just an accident waiting to happen? Some protocol, some policy, some key detail will be missed and he's history. Or he grabs some woman by the p$&@% and it's all over for him. By the way, what happened to the women who implicated him prior to the election. Or did he pay them off just like he did for his Trump You, I mean Trump University, scam?

Two new planes that are nothing like any other 747 in the world (except their predecessors). On the the outside they look like a typical jet off Bob's Friendly New & Used Jet Lot, but inside they are literally a combination of a flying White House and a Pentagon. That doesn't happen on the cheap. If he really wants to save money, buy him a used Learjet with minimal radio communications. In a crisis, the Powers that Be will want to talk to Pence anyhow, not him in the air.

For some perspective look up the VH-71's Marine One program as a cost snowball turning into a glacier.
This statement from Trump sounds like a warning shot to the Air Force One replacement program.

That is not free market capitalism- it is government expenditure of our money.
