It still seems strange to say "well, Hillary lost the election, but she can take comfort in the fact she got more votes than the winner".

Just follow thru on your Costa Rican plan. Seems sound

WHAT DIFFERENCE, AT THIS POINT, DOES IT MAKE?...
MY NUMBER TWO DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A NUMBER TWO

Some interesting notes...

About 84% of Wise County voted for him (the winner). About 14% voted for her (the loser). Of the Republican voters (the winners), about 73% voted straight party. Around 63% of Democrats (the losers) did the same thing.

Straight ticket voting... When you're too ignorant and lazy to find out who you are voting for.

Media reported big turnouts showing long lines of voters, however, Trump got fewer votes than Mitt Romney in 2012. The vote in Wise County reflect the white Christian evangelical vote making up 81% that went to Trump. Since Jerry Falwell, the leader of the Christian Right, made a deal with Republicans back in 1980, evangelicals have voted with the Republican Party, being their largest voter base.
The campaign was so negative and the choice of the lessor of evils kept millions of voters at home or not casting a vote for president (as the publisher and owner of the Messenger wrote in his opinion piece).
I'm sure that a lot of preachers like mine, told their congregations on the Sunday before the election that if they couldn't vote the person, vote the platform meaning vote Republican. However, Trump has a different platform than the Republican platform passed at the RNC convention! He ran on a populist progressive platform, not a conservative. He plans to dismantle the renewable energy sector, the EPA, tear up the Paris agreement on Global warming, do away with regulations on clean air and water! He wants a trillion dollar stimulus plan for roads, bridges, tunnels, airports that will provide only temporary jobs and increase the debt. Trump tax plan ( a former college professor from Rick Perry's failed campaign came up with it) will cut taxes creating another 6 trillion adding to the 20 trillion in debt!
Now the pressure is on Tea Party representatives; will they go with a populist progressive president or with their voters who want smaller government and a fiscal budget?
Democrats are ready to pass the trillion dollar stimulus immediately and with enough Trump anti-establishment Republicans, Trump will win! You know, he loves to build stuff and the bigger and more elaborate the better.
All I can say is the Republicans got what they deserve and two years from now, voters will be holding their representatives in the House accountable for their votes! For three decades Evangelicals have followed the lead of Jerry Falwell but my hope is the church will rethink involvement in politics and how it damages their witness for Christ.

Half of Trump's voters were white evangelicals, more than for the past three Republican presidents. Evangelicals will own the Trump presidency by giving up Christian integrity that morals and character does not matter in the President!
Interesting information shared by Wise County election workers Tuesday; old women who had not voted in years or never voted came out to vote! I'm guessing they were following their pastor instructions on how to vote. Same thing was reported in Florida and in Pennsylvania.
Now we know who elected Trump and it was not just the "forgotten" man in the Rustbelt!
