Thursday Afternoon Pick Me Up

Jeff Lynne's ELO stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Wednesday to perform a pair of tracks, including a web-exclusive rendition of Electric Light Orchestra's 1977 hit, "Mr. Blue Sky."

Always loved this song, and throw in the small string section and fantastic back up singers and you have one heck or rendition of this song.

Pathetic old music for pathetic old people!

Thanks Mr. LL. A huge fan of ELO for a long, long time.

2:57, the use of things like actual musical instruments, key and chord changes, harmonies, creativity and uniqueness does often confuse younger ears. Sameness, copycats and software are what REAL music is all about, right?

Maybe not ELO considering other artists and groups that are still NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, like Boston, Journey and Def Leppard for crying out loud...but Jeff Lynne for his ELO and Traveling Wilburys and production work with the Beatles...maybe a candidate.

We used to enjoy ELO, but then we stopped drinking tequila and sobered up.

5:00: I agree, he ought to be in for his producing. But Eno still isn't in for his work with Talking Heads, U2's best, David Bowie, DEVO, John Cale, etc., so I don't know how serious the Hall is about keeping up with producers.
