Semi automatic weapons are ideal for rapidly shooting your target more than once while retaining the accuracy that is usually lost with a fully automatic weapon.
Costas is nothing but an antigun puke who should keep his stupid opinions to himself during a nationally broadcast football game. Based on his theory, then we should ban all FORKS because they made Rosie ODonnell fat and unhealthy!

At least he used the term "semi". Most jackass reporters are so ignorant they refer to every non-revolver, auto-loading weapon as an "automatic", not realizing that term belongs only to weapons that fire multiple times with ONE press of the trigger.
Criminals have, in some cases, automatic weapons, therefore, we need to have at least semi-autos to defend our selves.
I don't understand all this talk about guns. Murder is not legal.. how is that working out?

A little gun control discussion is fine. It's all about where we draw the line on the 2nd Amendment.
Almost all of us would agree that musket loaded weapons (as existed when the Constitution was written) in the hands of a law abiding citizen are Acceptable and that thermonuclear warheads in the hands of a law abiding citizen are Not Acceptable.
Drawing the line between those two is what's worthy of discussion. What do we do with rifles? handguns? semi-automatics? automatics? armor-piercing bullets? dynamite? bazookas? all-plastic/ceramic guns?
The concept of the 2nd Amendment allowing any and all weapons is just as preposterous as the concept of the US banning all weapons.
If Bob wants to draw the line at semi-automatics, that's his opinion. He's a citizen, with every right to that opinion. You, as a citizen, have every right to yours.
BTW, he's not an "idiot" just because he disagrees with you.

Semi-automatic handgun still requires the pull of the trigger to fire. So does a revolver. What the hell's the difference? He meant assault rifle but he obviously doesn't know shit about weapons and has never owned one.
