If you click on OPEN PETITIONS, there are more states than Texas asking this.

I would LOVE that! The United States could add Puerto Rico as the new 50th state.

Let's see just how long Texas lasts before it becomes just another state of Mexico.

So long, suckers!

Bunch of idiots

Anonymous said...

Well I for none don't want to withdraw. I don't think you would be happy if that really happened. We would have no airline service, no highway dollars, less money for schools an etc and etc People need to think it through.

Withdrawing from the United States of America and create a new government....sounds to me like some people cant take NOT getting their way and want to pick up their toys and go home!! The United States elected a president...We all need to work toward making it better whether you support him or not!!

Consilium ac prudentia said...

Idiocracy. This isaatupid irrational emotional response that should be ignored. Idiots like this give conservatives and Republicans a bad name. If you think it through logically we would collapse as an independent country.

Want to throw around some treason
charges, start with Maobama.

Anonymous said...

I bet the Obama administration will REQUIRE ID to authenticate the signatures on this petition.

Anonymous said...

Rage, your treason comment is Bassakwards. The media commits treason everyday. They slander and destroy reputations, they do whatever they want.

If you check out the site, just about every state has one going. Its not about being sore losers and picking up your toys and leaving. The sore losers are the Democrats. They are the ones who trash everyone to get their way and the Repubs just sit and take it.

The new Texas Gov couldn't be any worse than the do nothing SOB we got now.

Besides, you lib tards can move out and we will take only LEGAL conservatives.

Treason charges against the signers?
Yep we can't let that
freedom of speech thing get
out of hand. Idiot!

This movement has been around since 1845 steadily gaining momentum. The Texas Nationalists add members to their ranks every year. To say that this is an emotional response would not be entirely correct.

This was tried once before and it did not work. That does not mean it won’t be a big success this time.
1. So Texas leaves the USA, and with it, it also leaves all of its military, military benefits for retirees, social security benefits, future benefits such as social security and Medicare. The people that have retired and are receiving these benefits will not mind losing them at all. The new military should be no problem other than: No army (tanks or other weapons no air force, no nuclear weapons, no navy (submarines, aircraft carriers, you name it) or defense systems of any kind. All of these things cost money but then I guess you can start printing confederate money again to pay for it and or borrow money from maybe the Chinese or (well these leaders will think of something). Hell who needs a military anyway, they just cost money.
2. The Original 13 States are going to keep the stars and stripes so no red, white and blue but that should not be a problem either. The old Stars and Bars are probably still available for Texas in some kind of a form and all of those conservatives in Austin will be jumping at the bit to be the Capitol City once again. No need to waste time on July 4th, everybody will just work that day. In another 150 years, the Texfederacy will have its own Rick Perry monument, George Wallace Memorial and other things comparable to those cheap ones now standing in Washington D. C.
3. Sounds like a hell of a good idea to secede from the USA. The people who are suggesting this probably have all of the answers so don’t get bogged down in the details, just follow along. Where can I sign a petition?
4. If it doesn’t work out, I am sure that Mexico would love to have Texas back. (Always good to have a plan B right!)

Roy Cooper Jr.Jr. said...

Where's the petition for reason and sanity that will show that only a few idiots believe Texas should secede?

Anonymous said...

Dang, 1:12.
1. They must be right; you are a teacher.

2. Quoting lines from Caddy Shack gets old after a while....well, really it doesn't. Just when you do it,

Anonymous said...

Roy don't worry, the real Texans and true blue citizens of the USA will kick their fool asses if they try to secede!

Anonymous said...

The real idiocracy is that so many of you have put serious thought into this and what the repercussions would be if seccesion were to occur...like this petition was something with one iota of traction. It isn't going to happen. This petition is little more than frustrations showing through from an extremely small minority(.0008%)of Texans. To paint all Republicans with a broad brush based on this is typical liberal media bias run amok!!!

Anonymous said...

No, Texas nor any other state should secede! We need to fight against Obama and his desire to ruin the USA! Don't break away, but stand together! Let's get him impeached!

Yeah, because nothing says 'treason' like wanting to make sure every American has access to health care.

Rage, your treason comment is Bassakwards. The media commits treason everyday. They slander and destroy reputations

Let me help you out here sport. 'Treason' is actually the only crime defined in the Constitution. Go read it. Then find the definitions of 'slander' and 'trashed reputation,' and let me know if those are the same things.

Yep we can't let that
freedom of speech thing get
out of hand.

Advocating for secession from the United States is not freedom of speech.

Will that keep the Niggers out

Here's the real motivation. Hey buddy, you forgot spics, wops, nips, chinks, and papists.

What a great way for all Anti-American Republicans to celebrate Veteran's Day.

Agreed. Ironic.

2:13, This is a non-story, why report it? My guess is someone in the White House pushed it out and let the liberal rags and bloggers run with it. Hell, I could get 25 thousand signature on a petition to stop the descrimination against red ants.

Rage,

Despite all your rage, you are still just a rat in a cage.

The people who want to leave the USA could move down to Mexico like the Romney family did in the 1900's. Polygamy was more important than the citizenship then. Just a thought.

Believe it or not, Texas and Hawaii have the right to secede. Let me site Texas constitution of 1876 and the Texas Declaration of Independence:
"Texas is a free and independent State ... All political power is inherent in the people ... they have at all times the inalienable right to alter their government in such manner as they might think proper." Texas Constitution (1876)
"When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived...[it is] the inherent and inalienable right of the people to...abolish such government, and create another in its stead..."
— Texas Declaration of Independence (1836)
Although not directly stating the right of secession, it is implied by their constitution that the government is granted power by the people (if anyone bothered to read the Constitution of the US, you'd realize our Declaration of Independence and Constitution state the same thing) and abolishing a form of government creating another in its stead....well, if that's not secession, I don't know what is.
Keep in mind both states voluntarily joined our union, originally being independent free countries. Although it is unlikely either would seriously consider secession, it would be interesting to see how the Supreme Court today would rule on the request.
This being said, its a sad state of affairs when there is serious consideration for separation of states. Might be a good time to look at our Federal system and see how far we have gone from the Founding Fathers' idea of this Republic to the oligarchy it has become, with a very few states determining how the rest of us live, how we pay taxes, what kind of health care we must purchase, how we worship, etc.
The real bane in this country is the ACLU and all the extreme secular movements from the East and West Coasts, granted heavily populated and therefore can rake in a majority, but definately do not speak for the more rural and God-fearing regions of this Nation.
I have one question: If it came to a peaceful decision to secede, how would this Government react? Would it send in troops? Would they fire on peaceful civilians?
Kinda scary if you think about it. Almost Orwellian

Not so fast. Texas had the right to secede when they came into the union in 1845. Thye exercised that right in 1861. They came back into the union with in 1865 under unconditional surrender, that means no conditions. We ain't special no mo'.

Texas has it's own power grid (there are three in the country, Eastern, Western and Texas), our own fuel supply, the 6th largest economy in the world, our own Army National Guard etc. I can't understand why you would think that it wouldn't work. If your scared, move North. I'm sure they would be glad to have you!
