. . . as a condition of probation after pleading to an Intoxication Manslaughter charge. In other news, a copy of the U.S. Constitution has apparently not made it to Oklahoma yet.
How dare that backward thinking judge force this poor young man to suffer through this humiliation instead of allowing him to experience the progressive approach of corrective containment where he can learn a criminal trade while sharing a VERY close personal relationship with an older, "hands on" mentor.
So what's the problem. Sounds like the judge set some pretty stengent rules for him to abide by. I didn't read that he is forced to go to any certain church or to follow any particular religion. He will be much better off doing these things and will have a chance to be a better citizen than he would if he went to prison.
Seriously! Even I have a problem with this. Unlike some of the over the top crap that liberals protest as seperation of church and state this time it definitely applies. A judge can not sentence you to attend church. It doesn't matter if it was non-specific, he can not force anyone to attend church. That is definitely government endorsement of whatever church the kid chooses to attend. Big no no. It would probably serve him well to attend, but he can not be forced to do so. All of the rest seems well within reason and well within the law via precedent.
three weeks ago a woman from my church invited my wife and I to a threesome. granted, she hadn't been in attendance in a while... nonetheless, church ain't all it's cracked up to be...
I suppose it would be okay if he was sentenced to attend a mosque. Then the libs would be singing the praises of this judge and talking about how thoughtful and transformational his decision was.
7:22, I have had the same thing happen. It does happen a lot more than you would think. FBC Decatur members are quiet on Sundays, but some screwin' horny goats come reunion time.
Reaching a bit Obama haters. Wise County is Little Oklahoma it seems. He can go to church as ordered, but if his heart is not right about it, it is just punishment. That is the reason anyway.
Uhh...I'm pretty sure Obama has read and regularly applies the Establishment Clause. You do understand that he taught Constitutional Law at a prestigious law school.
It's the right-wing Christians that can't seem to comprehend the Establishment Clause.
Looks like 10:09 knows the answer. Guess they will change the new member verbage from "....comes from a promise of a letter.." to "... comes for a promise of a threesome..."

Silly Commenters.
I like what the judge did. I am an agnostic and the worst punishment I could imagine would be to attend Church.
I read this story on yahoo yesterday, I'm guessing most of the commenters didn't
