Speaking Of Education

AUSTIN (AP) – Hispanic students for the first time make up the majority of students enrolled in Texas public schools.

The Texas Education Agency reports Hispanic students this school year account for 50.2 percent of the state’s 4.9 million children enrolled in public schools, including pre-kindergarten and early childhood education.

But I'm not sure why it took until March to do the calculations.

I wonder how the black community feels about this?

I would be curious to know out of this number how many of these are here illegally. I am willing to bet that it is probably about 80% of the hispanics, especially in Fort Worth or Dallas.

If the infestations of immigrants from the South continues we will be a nation of Spanish Speaking concrete workers by 2015

This just sucks. We should be getting the perks of being a minority now, but we all know that won't happen. Need to close the damn gates.

I don't know what the numbers look like in Decatur but, I volenteered at a scholl a couple of weeks ago and there were a bunch of them there.

The TX Ed Agency has become a huge, lumbering bureaucracy. I don't remember the numbers to report here, but the # of employees has risen exponentially since 1985 when I became aware of that agency. It is the nature of govt., at all levels, and is increasingly true from municipality to county to state to the federal level. Meaningful cuts could be made in the state budget for education starting right there in Austin and in the Region offices, and education for our kids wouldn't miss a beat. They could reduce the size of the other state agencies, produce similar results, and get very much closer to fixing the budget deficit. You won't see it happen, though. They aren't even talking about it, just passing the buck to the local school districts.
That PEIMS data is all submitted electronically, I don't understand why it took more than a few days to compile the report.
Just wait 'till they take over health care and all the other areas these "czars" were appointed to manage. You're gonna love it. And it will reduce the budget at the federal level, also!
Riiight.

that's impossible. Whites are incapable of doing any kind of hard work and when they attempt to speak Spanish they sound like they're trying to cough something up.

The last line from BG appears to be the set-up for a punchline, but nobody took the bait?!
And you don't even have to go with ethnic humor. Just say something like...the folks doing the number tallying had the handicap of a public education here in Texas!

How about...it takes that long to count up that many fingers and toes

They didn't think this was gonna be on the test

They had to show their work

The assignment wasn't due until tomorrow. No pressure!

The dog ate my report?!

The mexican, hispanic, population is exploding period. It will continue until Texas is reclaimed. There is little that can be done to stop it and it will continue. The work that nobody wanted to do is getting done by hispanic labor and the few whites that are left are starving. I decided a few weeks ago that rather then continue to try and work in the home improvement business I was just goint to drink more beer. I switched to wiskey and with any luck at all I will be a drunk in no time. I am smart enough to spell out what I need a cardboard sign. I am going to misspell the words though so I can get some sympathy while I stand on the corner of 51 and beg for more whiskey money.

Texas needs to start putting heat on the illegals like Arizona did and they will start leaving in groves. Maybe then we wouldn't have a problem supporting what is left of them.

Anonymous said...

Ahem, Texas was part of Spanish colonialism from the 1690s until the Mexican Revolution and then a part of the Mexican Republic 1821-1836. Is it any wonder that there is a significant number of Hispanics in Tejas? They were here first!!

Anonymous said...

Dont you people know USA stand for United Spanish Americans?

Anonymous said...

The problem is a bunch of the hispanic parents that have kids here is that one of them is more than likely illegal. When they have kids in the US, that makes The children at least legal citizens. All of the Illegals working in the US with bogus social security numbers are commiting identity theft!!!

Anonymous said...

what else do you expect when they are coming here any way they can, stealing identities and banging like rabbits multiplying by the thousands every year. so annoying. none of them speak clear english either

send 'em back to mexico!

Anonymous said...

Throughout history people have migrated. The English migrated to America and the Comanche now speak English. The Spanish migrated to Mexico and the Aztec now speak Spanish and so will your grandchildren. Just sit back and enjoy it.

Anonymous said...

You republicans better start being nicer to these future voters. We Democrats see a great voting block a few years from now. Goodbye Mr. $10,000 a month apartment governor. Before any of you yahoos on here worry about speaking Spanish you should start by learning English.

12:50 - What you don't understand is that a white democrat will eventually not be elected. They will vote their color just like the blacks did in 2008. Have yall not thought this through?

Anonymous said...

3:51
This is 12:50.
I don't recall requesting a color of the Democrat.

Anonymous said...

Next step in the migration process will be the requirement that all students take Spanish in school. Think I don't understand what is happening. Then just watch the next ten years for the changes.

Darwinism will be apparent in the future since for various reasons Mexicans reproduce more frequently than lighter skinned homo sapiens. Physical/anatomical characteristics of the Aztec/Spanish/African mix of the Hispanic people, as well as their intellectual characteristics will start to dominate the Texas population.

Anonymous said...

12:50 By "being nicer" to future Hispanic voters, do you think more money from property owners, businesses and increased sales tax will improve education for the growing number of Hispanics in Texas schools? Education reform is needed, especially more vocational training for the large number of the children who will never finish high school. A "one size fits all" does not work. Not every student will go on to college.

How many Hispanic school children's parents are illegal immigrants? How many of the school children are on medicaid or the free lunch program? How much is it costing us to provide free health care? How much is it costing us to educate them? Will they become the unskilled laborers of the future?

Democrats think by "spreading the wealth" they can continue to buy votes. As budget cuts continue, our local school boards will have to face more cuts, lay off more teachers, quit building buildings. Part of the budget problem is not having an immigration program that allows for immigrant workers.

It is past time to stop being "nice" to people who enter our country illegally. We can't afford more "nice" as we learned this week we are running out of money for our schools.

For children who will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to go to college, the majority of the children who won't or can't are holding them back in a system where teachers teach them to "pass the test".

Who knows what our country is going to look like when these kids get to be 18? We will probably all face problems we never dreamed of and need all these kids in the military to fight for our way of life. Being Democrat or Republican will not be the issue. Fighting evil will be how we keep our liberty.

12:50 here.
It would be astounding if eliminaitng Hispanic school children would solve the potpourri of problems you list.

Anonymous said...

Its funny how none of you complain when those of us that are here legally and have a college education (yeah, some of us do have more ambition than to stay in Decatur), educate your children, process your paperwork when you are applying for food stamps and medicare- big surprise white people are just as lazy and needy-, and tend to you when you are sick.

10:25
8:01 Education reform is needed but until we exhaust all other measures, we are not going to solve the problems with education. So in the meantime, why spend more tax dollars?
