Pics From West Texas Wild Fires

The Amarillo Globe-News has some pretty good coverage. 68 homes destroyed. 110,000 acres burned.

Of course we could cut the firefighters budgets.

Is the Wisconsin Gov. behind this?

I think Charlie Sheen is behind this.

When you said "West Texas" I naively thought you meant West Texas, not the Panhandle. (Of course, people say "North Texas" to describe where you're at, even though Amarillo's 150 miles farther north.) (And your earlier "West Texas label" post regarding fires near Andrews, Big Spring, et al was accurate. You're batting a healthy .500 now.)

You liberals just don't get it. When the well runs dry, it stays dry. To explain, when the people run out of money, so does the government. If they would stop spending on frivilous projects, those projects that really matter could be funded.

At least this truck had the sense not to drive into it. Amazing how many people drive into walls of fog, smoke, or water. And yes, you CAN stop or turn around in time if you have sense.

10:03, why don't you go ahead and be the first to offer up a lot more of your money to cover the costs. Everybody's complaining about cuts, nobody is willing to pay higher taxes.

Very scary to know how fast these fires can spread. It could happen to us at any time. I feel bad for the people involved in this one.

Brings back memories of when Rising Star was almost wiped out by range fires a few years back. Scary.

On December 21 2012 everything will look like this scene.

I can't believe someone would have the audacity to question whether the Panhandle is in West Texas. "Panhandle" may be more specific, but everything in the "Panhandle" is in West Texas.

Get over yourself.

Come on WordKyle. You are better than this.

Should be:

Coach Rage must be rubbing off on you.

1037 - I knew it when I wrote it. I should have probably said, "where y'all are at" to achieve the tone I wanted. (Hey, at least I said farther and not further.) Not to worry, it was a misfire with good intentions. Although not perfect, my written grammar's usually pretty well.

Speaking of the troll, he either outed himself the other day or left an ingenious bit of bait. He affects a lawyer's arrogance (sorry, BG) so it's likely the former.
