It's a shame the teams are being punished, when it was clearly the "coaches" who are acting so childish. And some of the kids were acting very grown-up, trying to break up the fight.

Who cares? They are too young to be playing contact football anyways. Ask any pediatrician and he/she will tell you NOT to allow your child to play. Their bones are not well developed enough to stand that kind of impact.
The other problem with all kids sports (soccer, etc.) is the overzealous parents who live vicariously through their children.
