- The bus crash in Missouri yesterday was insane. This link has the story and the picture of the bus which is on top of a truck cab. What you might miss is that there is a crumpled car under the bus.
- Randy Galloway accussed Mark Cuban of taking kickbacks from the lenders in the Rangers auction to drive up the bid which prompted an angry Cuban to call in to Galloway's radio show. Delicious.
- Supposed to hit at least 100 over the next seven days. Kill me.
- Tiger Woods shot a 74 yesterday at a tournament he's owned over the years. Man, if he's lost it, it'll be the biggest Fall From Grace sports story ever.
- Trim painting in the game room and my painting projects are done. Note to self: Remove trim tape shortly after painting next time. Letting it remain on there a couple of days isn't good.
- The First Lady is on a pretty high tone vacation in Spain.
- I didn't even know a red light was going up in front of Devon on 380 until I drove by it this week. If someone had told me as a kid that would happen at "the Pleasant View road on the highway", I would have thought they were crazy.
- Buying carpet from Home Depot is an ordeal. Pick it out, order it (where you learn of a thousand incidental charges), have someone come out and measure, have someone call with a quote, pay for it, and wait for a contractor to call to schedule installation.
- The Petroleum Club in Fort Worth got the go ahead to create a 40th floor balcony. It dawned on me I don't know a single member of that club.
- A Lexus SUV hit a pick-up by my office yesterday. Pick-up guy was not happy.
- Nerdy stuff: Find out how many people you follow on Twitter do not follow you back.
- You'd think by now every kid would have a GPS bracelet on them or something similar.

Michelle Obama and 40 friends staying at a $2500 per night 5 star hotel in Spain and my family's vacation this summer was a 3 day weekend in Granbury. If Obama says one more thing about tightening our belts, I hope the shoe thrower form George Bush's days shows up with a whole closet full of shoes. Dang hypocrites!

I agree with you. Perks do come with the position. But a lot of this is perception. When we have high unemployment and the citizens are all cutting back, it looks bad to have the President and his family living it up at our expense.
I have lost count of all of the vacations that they have taken just since June! It is probably four or five.
With this President, it is do as I say, not as I do. He tells people about having to cut back, but then he his traveling all over the world on vacations and having parties at the White House. he encourages people to travel to the Gulf Coast, but books his vacation in Maine.
Last time I was out and about there were several local places that sold and installed carpet. So much for supporting the locals.
Michelle Obama is not living it up on this trip on taxpayer expense. It is being paid for by private funds.

Having said that, I'm not sure I can get real angry about the Michelle Obama vacation. While it is indecorous and demonstrates the Obama administration's political tin ear, it's not illegal -- more of a faux pas. On the plus side, it shows yet again the elitist attitude of the White House. Like last year's Air Force One photo op and the Obamacare legislation, it makes people shake their heads and say "What were they thinking?"

We used Floors and More on the square (its about 200 yard North and East from your office). Got to deal with the OWNER directly very nice lady. Took samples home kept them for a few days called and spoke to the OWNER again ask questions got intelligent answers made descisions. Got carpet and tile both installed under the supervision of the OWNER. After all work was complete and we were satisfied paid the same bill that was orginally quoted to the OWNER. US taxpayers are footing the bill for the 70 Secret Service personnel, Obama's aides as well as the cost of the crew, fuel and maintenance of the aircraft used by Michelle-Antoinette Obama and her 40 BFFs. Just for the record, it costs $150,000 round trip just for the FUEL for the plane used by Michelle-Antoinette to get to and from Spain.

I say drop the standards to rock bottom. Then look at how fantastic our percentage of passing will be. All kids pass. No problem when a pass is just putting your name on the page. Unfortunately, we may still have a few fail at that level of competence. These test scores mean nothing. Only when we go back to teaching the basics will we see success from our schools.
I did the same thing too! Lowe's was so high on our quote even with some coupon they had going on. They also got the whole thing wrong, very rude as well. Went to Milissa (the owner) up at Floor's n More and got a much better price and got it installed almost immediately! Would most definitely recommend Floors N' More! Very nice to deal with up there!
I also went to Lowes to get a price for plantation blinds - all wood. Just the curved-sunset/sunrise-looking part - the top part - was going to cost $1000.00. EACH ONE of those & that was just the top part of the blinds, admittedly the most expensive part because of the curve, but still that was for just the top part of ONE window.. Can you tell I still can't believe it?
So then I called a place from DFW & each top part was $500, installed, all wood. I was much happier.
I called Lowes and told them of the difference in prices and they told me it was because the brand they had for wood blinds was the top brand. But still I have all wood blinds and they look beautiful. I can't imagine how another brand would look any nicer. They also warned me that the other place probably didn't include installation. But, yes, it did include it.
I can blame the O's for the perception, but not the vacation. Living in that fishbowl has to be God Awful and with Kids no less.
Doubt they had much input to how many SS went with them. Doubt there are too many resorts that can handle the security etc that goes with a visiting president/wife. So choices are limited.

We have an airport in Decatur for those who didn't know...there is also a helicopter repair facility there that repairs/refurbishes helicopters from all over the world. All here in little Decatur.

Trust me, VERY FEW specialists accept Medicaid. Currently 80% of US doctors accept Medicare. I understand if your responding is "not worth the trouble" to you. After I take three minutes to write this, I'm off to do more important things. However, for all of those readers (maybe undecided!) who don't respond, but read to see the different sides of the debate, you have left the impression that you can't (or won't) defend your criticism of 4:01's original comment. As I said earlier, your inaction by default lends validity to his statement. The one point -- that the Liberal/"progressive" movement exists to make more people dependent on government -- is a statement that resonates with people.
Please don't take this as any sort of attack on you personally. My point is that if you attack someone else's opinion, it adds substance to the discussion if you can back up your own opinion.
