Haha, even the police chief said the emotions went too high. Good thing the officer was suspended, the kid/guy was only arrested for disorderly conduct. Not anything bad like weapons possession or something like that. And before saying "oh, they are going to pull the race card," aren't you pulling the race card yourself by trying to predict it? I'd say the suspension of the officer without pay was a reasonably proportionate response to his infraction/poor behavior.
True, throwing the suspect on the hood of the patrol cruiser seemed excessive - but this was not a sustained, Rodney King incident. The dash camera only offers us the slamming of the youth on the hood, not what preceded it. There was not a mob of out-of-control officers, and the youth was not seriously injured.

Millions of people in this country need "help" with their racial awareness and sensitivity. Perhaps re-education camps are in order. The construction and management of such camps could help stimulate our flagging economy and teach people how to stand in line without fidgeting.

Why didn't the cop just write him a ticket? Sheriff Walker ought to refuse Class C arrest at his jail. These defendants have their cars towed and have to bond out since they only get a bond set. The JP's will only set bond for Class C's out of the municipal courts when a fine could be set. They feel they don't have the jurisdiction in a municipal court. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF DUE PROCESS. If they can't set the fine then they shouldn't be booked in the Wise County Jail. The money their out for towing and bond could have been used to pay their fine. I hear all the time one officer was willing to just write them a ticket, but the other officer wasn't. Even the officers can't agree...
If you were this kids parent slamming him around like that you would be arrested for assault. Even worse in reverse you would be charged with assault on public servant. How come officers get away with it? Officer should be crimanally charged with abuse. Two wrongs doesn't make it right. WWJD
This kids charge should diffently be thrown out.I would be disorderly with this officer also, the charge probably extended from the officers behavior. Poor kid, and I'm white. How can you expect anyone to respect law enforcement with this officers behavior? The officer should be held to a higher standard since he is an officer of the worst kind. Reminds me of Mike Jones in Runaway Bay, TX. Waist of tax payers dollars, and potential law suit against the City the officers work in. Hope some attorney would take at least a civil case against the City for this kid.
