Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

  • Twenty five miners dead in West Virginia, and it looks like that number will rise.
  • There were a lot of white guys on the court in last night's NCAA final.
  • And that last shot one have been one of the most famous in history if it would have gone in. I was asleep when it happened.
  • The DWI case that killed the two Argyle residents is getting lots of press since they've charge the guy with Murder instead of Intoxication Manslaughter. I've explained before how the State can do that. (But most of the news media simplify the case by indicating he was charged with Murder because the case is "really bad.")
  • This wind is killing me.
  • The Commissioners' Court in Collin County is considering passing a resolution objecting to the health care plan. (Like they have anything to do with it.) But is Wise County going to stand around and let them out-conservative us?
  • I'm going on an out-of-town hiking trip this weekend. It also involves sleeping in a hotel.
  • I'm not sure who is charge of the Messenger twitter feed, but they've gone crazy. Yesterday for example: "17-year-old female in Newark popped her knee out while performing cartwheels. Medics responding."
  • I've been on my ratcheted up health kick for about six weeks and have lost a legitimate six pounds. I'll take that.
  • What a weird story about the the SMU Law grad who was arrested for "planning" to use deadly force against a Dallas abortion clinic. A couple of weeks earlier he had filed a handwritten lawsuit against the members of the Supreme Court. And if I read the story correctly, he filed the case with a clerk with the municipal court in Plano. Boy ain't right.

"There were a lot of white guys on the court in last night's NCAA final". Barry, that is a racist statement.

Does anyone know of an RV park in/near Decatur?

Girl on the right of the picture (left in reality) looks like she could be Colt McCoy's sister.

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that someone was on here saying how they had a family member in jail on a DWI and it was unfair because the act wasn't intentional?? So what should happen to the drunk that killed two people and forever ripped apart a family in Lewisville this weekend? I'm sure his actions were not intentional right?? So we should just shrug our shoulders and say "oops, sorry 'bout that."

Too bad the law doesn't list this type of act as a capital offense.

If you are going to drink - KEEP YOUR BUTT AT HOME!!! How hard is that?

This wind reminds me of "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant.

9:54 It was me and my feelings are the same. It wasn't intentional, which makes it different from premeditated murder in my mind. However, I stated I felt the driver, my family member included, deserved to do some time in prison, as this kid should. The difference is that this was this person's 4th DUI and it was my family's first. I still maintain that killing someone by accident is a different animal from killing someone by intent with a gun, knife, etc. I never said they shouldn't spend time in prison as consequences. Just that they are people too, and especially with one offense, it could have happened to most of us at one time or another in our lives. If you've never drunk and driven, then you are in the minority. But I still agree that 3-4 offenses is way over the top. And I still believe that the folks wouldn't have died if it weren't God's will. They'd have still been alive like the rest of their family. It was simply their time to die and God used a drunk driver to do it. You don't have to agree, but you won't change my mind or my beliefs.

11:27-"The difference is that this was this person's 4th DUI and it was my family's first"

It was the 1st time your family got caught...it wasn't his 1st time to DWI

11:27, you're crazy if you truly believe that most people have driven drunk. Or maybe it just says something about the kind of people you are related to/hang out with.

Everybody is an angel and has never done any wrong.....just ask them.Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...dont believe it was the harlot's first time either.

2:22 don't know who you're addressing, but I can promise you I (1:50) have never in my life driven drunk. Or even buzzed. Most of my family doesn't drink at all. And people I hang with don't drink and drive. We always have a DD if we're out.

According to the story on CH 11 he filed the lawsuit at the Federal Courthouse in Plano. He also threatened to use deadly force if law enforcement tried to stop him.

You're correct, that boy ain't right.

Blue Star rock quarry will kill 26 total, most will be Chico civilians. 2011.

11:27 when your family member was drinking it was intentional. When they got behind the wheel it was intentional. That alone is intent. Your target is not one person but anyone who is on the road.

Blue Star won't last long enough to kill many people. They are the same people that built Bridgeports park for them.I would love to have the money he screwed so many people out of.The equipment is madein China by the way.
