- Edit: There are three dead cows along 287 in front of Bono's restaurant on 287 this morning? (Thanks, Lori.)
- Former Bridgeport resident Allen Vaught (and current State Rep. for a Democratic section of Dallas) has a speaking part opposite of Matt Damon in Damon's new movie called Green Zone. See the short clip here and learn teh background here.
- I bet he'll get a nice royalty check for that for years to come.
- In other video news, Decatur's Trevor Brazile has made one for the "I Am Second" campaign. (Thanks, Amy.)
- Wasn't the old movie Brian's Song based upon a book called "I Am Third"?
- For some reason I'm seeing the phrase "it's a good read" everywhere when someone references an article or book.
- To the rare commenter I rejected yesterday who claimed I charged you $1,000 to make "two phone calls." Uh, give me a call because I want to hear from a person that doesn't exist.
- Scan through the sports channels right now and you'll see a conference basketball tournament going on --- mostly with empty seats in the background.
- Haven't seen the Steven York criminal case on the docket lately.
- I was in Jacksboro yesterday and if I had dropped a lighted match everything to the West for miles would have gone up in flames. (Wind reference, by the way.)
- Very funny news clip of a on-the-scene reporter having a meltdown. But the face on the anchor as the scene cuts back to the studio is the best part.
- One of the few oddball films that everyone, for years now, has told me that I would like but that hated: Zoolander. I think it's just that I hate Ben Stiller acting like anything other than Ben Stiller.
- Ticket Fans: There's a Greg "The Hammer" Williams update. That man's not working for less than $104,000 a year.
- The Dallas Morning News' editorial board thought the 35 year sentence out of Tyler for marijuana possession was stupid, too.

BG..did you hear about the POTUS getting caught lip syncing yesterday in Chicago?? It was really weird, he stopped talking but the sound and his words kept flowing..and how about that Patrick Kennedy..was that wild or what...??
What are the odds that the three girls, featured in today's Random Thoughts, go to the same colourist, shop at the same Hooker Boutique and work the same corner in the red-light district?
Obviously the on-the-scene reporter is one of those people who take themselves WAAAY too seriously. The best way to react to flubs is to openly laugh about them, which actually puts everyone (and yourself) at ease!
So the guy busted for possession was still on parole for a drug crime committed in the 80s? Am I misunderstanding the situation?
whats up with the 3 dead cows?
You've got to love breast enhancements! What's not to love? Barry, Please keep posting tah tahs and keep the morons off of turf talk!

Psssttttt...Not everything you read on the Interweb is as it appears. Some of the stuff you read/learn on the Interweb is outright misdirection/misinformation.
The Onion specializes in satire and their story of Obama lip syncing a speach was/is bogus news story and an EXCELLENT example of social satire.
Barron, cute white lesbian alert! They cancelled the prom because she wanted to take a girl:

Girls today are trampier than usual. Esp the one on the left with the tan line....something cut that low is just plain disgusting, paid-for fake boobs or no.
3 dead cows? Must be another "EAT MOR CHIKEN" commercial.
On December 21 2012 Hussein Obama and the rest of us will have lost the race.
Why is it that everyone I talk to say's that marijuana should be legal? Im not talking users either people who have tried it and dont like it.People who have never tried it and never will...old, young..in between.. educated, non educated. The only people I have heard that wants it to remain illegal are those that profit from the system from arrest to incareration. Thats just one example that it does not make any difference what the people think or who is voted into any office. We are cutting back on medicare for the elderly but we have enough money to throw away on processing marijuana users through the system! Oh really!

There are more people, in law enforcement, than you would imagine, who have come to the realization that the US has lost the War On Drugs. You really should check out LEAP/Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and make a donation.
8:28 - MzChief - good words. Beats me why BG doesn't just go ahead and post total nudity.
Good to see some hot Baylor dropouts again. Church attendence would go up if they sang in the choir.
Sounds like the Hammer is struuggellingg.

re; wind refernence in Jacksboro; I thought flautulence was involved
mzchief - Let's also admit defeat in the War on Poverty. Considerably more money has been spent on that to no effect (if you believe the politicians.)
945 - I'd say that the problems in our society are not caused by a lack of recreational drugs that make you dull, sluggish and hungry.
To wordkyle...
Just like the War on Drugs, the War on Poverty has caused more problems than it has solved. I would venture to speculate, the War on Poverty has assured more people a lifetime, mired, in poverty than enabled people to escape/avoid poverty.
Just for the record...More people die from being FAT than die from drug use. If the government was TRULY interested in the safety of citizens, being FAT would be a crime.
Not Breaking News..around 4:30 am thursday call goes out that there is a major 10.50(bad wreck) on hwy 287 north of Decatur near Bono's..then a few minutes later the dispatcher tells deputies that a Decatur officer needs assistance with a drunk driver resisting arrest near Bono's, then reports that there is another major wreck 200 yards north of the first location..guess what..about 8 cows in the middle of 287..then another wreck involving an 18 wheeler and a honda car that was on its roof..why is this not in the messupper..?
10:13 I guess if you choose to "live" on a recreational substance you will have a problem... I'm guessing we should blame all our problems that we have in society on drugs ...and not the greedy bastards that improvrish a multitude of people to the point of not caring about themselves let alone society!
My Messenger subscription runs out this month. I'm not renewing it! Instead, I am going to buy myself a scanner!! You people are well informed! Once I get one, how do I learn what the codes are so I will know what they are talking about?
Pot should be legalized because it does less physical harm than its legal counterpart, alcohol, because many of us out here LIKE recreational substances on occasion, and because we're wasting valuable money and resources fighting something that should be legalized, taxed, and used as a source of revenue rather than an expenditure...duh!
8:52
you askin about the ones that are the Random thought girls or the ones in front of Bono's?
the one's in front of Bono's are froma wreck this a.m. at 5 a.m. that I sat waiting in for 25 minutes.........cheezzzzzz
Byr the way ...Bono's is having a hamburger and steak sale tonight............what are the odds?????
Hint: Don't order prime rib at Bono's Or Cow Camp.
1101 you can get all of the codes online..very easy..
1103..not to mention all of the true medical benefits..
WK..no one has EVER od'd on POT>>don't b a da ok..
cows were roaming freely this morning along 287 around 430am. They caused at least 2 accidents.
Wow could have had a little free ranging beef ....you just cant get any good roadkill these days!
1224 - "od'd on POT" Is that remotely close to anything I've said? I don't want to be a da, but you appear to be a little baked yourself.
I love how people want to complain about the Messenger all the time. Why do you read it or look at it online if thats all you are going to do. This blog would be pretty bland if it were not for the Messenger...
You can get the codes from the Wise County SO Web site
Wrong, 1:11. We don't need the mess to keep up with news because we HAVE the blog!
PS: I plan on cancelling my subscription when it comes up for renewal. Currently all I get out of it is the crossword, and that's not worth the price of the subscription.
11:56 Don't ever eat at cow camp anymore . Bonos not much better.
Why do you pay to get nothing more than the crossword, when you can get that in the Wise Living - or whatever that thing is called that comes in the mail on Wednesday. Although, I didn't find a puzzle in there yesterday...if they stop putting the puzzle in there, I won't have any excuse to even open it up
Those women have such beautiful blonde hair, why do they dye the roots black?
I can't wait for the Steven York trial...justice will be served.
Looks like three very beautiful young women to me. Any comments otherwise would say you are very jealous and are probably fat and ugly!
The Messenger needs to wake up. It is a local newspaper, bought by local residents containing, basically, local news/events, with additional sections about state and national issues.
Sadly, the current owner has decided that only certain news events are worthy of the masses.
Not to compare media to food, BUT, there is a reality show about the worst restaurants and a famous Chef Ramsey. He goes to these various places and helps the owner pull his/her head out of their butt and give the patrons what THEY want and are willing to PAY for in order to be successful and prosper.
Two key words here....WANT....PAY.
Now, I seriously doubt Chef Ramsey will help you succeed, but, hearing continuous comments on this blog about the sad state of the messenger and comments about canceling of subscriptions should be a hint that your head is up your butt.
I think if I were a business owner ( a business is usually in the service industry.....i.e. "supply and demand") I would want to supply what the customer is asking for.......
just saying
RE; Bullet point #7--
This is an open letter to Mr. Green and all of his blog followers
I am the "rejected" commenter who claimed Mr. Green charged me $1000 for two phone calls. You were not privy to the original comment, as it was rejected and later rebutted in the random thoughts.
The comment you were not allowed to see was a hyperbole for a $1000/ hr medical service as it compares compares to a $500/ hr legal service which doesn't require several hundred thousand dollars of sophisticated medical equipment.
To anyone who might have taken offense at my comparison and/or conclusion, I apologize for your lack of a sesne of my humor
I never implied that I was either abused or overcharged by Mr Green.
Half-Baked Criminal Sort
If any business paid attention to anonymous blog comments and changed their business model to accomodate them, that business would deserve to fail.
just saying back at you
people dont go to Bono's for the food, thats for damn sure!! parking lot will be full of cars but u walk in the resturant, theres no one in there, all in the bar. the food sucks!!

Anyone who believes it is appropriate for young women to dress like hookers is someone who, frequently, pays for sex.
Good luck with your STDs. For your sake, I hope Valtrex works as advertised.
The reporter was probably upset that the script was hard to read, because of all the words that were spelled incorrectly
