Forestburg Wreck

Someone mentioned to me about a fatality accident involving a teenage in Forestburg last night. If you've ever been to Forestburg, you know there's not much in Forestburg. A death of a teenage resident would rock any community but especially that one. Edit: Link

Sounds like it was basically head-on about 4 miles west of Forestburg. 2 other pts. transported by air ambulance, another parent and child transported to Bowie Hospital Thoughts and prayers for all involved, including rescue workers. That is tough on everbody.

One of the girls is my daughter's neice. Both her legs are broken and a broken wrist, besides the girl who passed away there was also a girl whose arm, pelvis and shoulder were broken. According to my daughter the other driver and passengers were not injured. My daughter's sister in law is waiting until her daughter's surgery for pinning her legs is done before she tells her one of the girls passed away.

From what I can gather, there were five people involved...the driver of the car that caused the accident (who had two other passengers, one of which is dead) is in critical condition and is not stable enough for surgery.

Last night, it was rainy and I'm sure the roads were slick. With inexperienced drivers, probably going too fast, not wearing seat belts, talking and laughing and not paying attention, yada yada, shiate like this can happen in an instant and death comes to visit.

I am so glad I retired from the Forestburg VFD as an EMT - I don't think my heart could have taken that call - I know/knew most all of them and/or their parents.

I have heard they are having a vigil tonight at the Forestburg church. have'nt been able to find anything out.

Which church 3:37? There are three in Forestburg. But then none of them are more than two blocks from each other.

My friend and her 3 year old were involved in that wreck. My friend is at the hospital in Wichita Falls and her leg is broken in 3 places and the 3 year old was care-flighted to Cooks Children. His pelvis is broken in 3 places and as of this morning they were still monitoring him for internal injuries and bleeding. From what I understand, they were hit head on by some teenage girls. One died and 2 went to a hospital in Fort Worth. It really is a very sad story and I am praying for everyone involved.

4:48 it will be at the Baptist church at 6:00 this afternoon.

There is a memorial service at the baptist church tonight at 6:30. I heard that the lady and son in the other car were hurt(the lady a broke leg and shattered wrist, the little boy a broke pelvis). I knew the 3 teenagers and knew family of the lady and son. The girl will be missed by many for she was always postive and always had smile on her face.

There's apparently a creepy history of car wrecks with with the teen driver's family........her great grandmother wrapped her car around a tree by the rodeo grounds oh so many years ago and passed on at the scene, her mother was in a pretty bad wreck when she was a teenager, and now this.

The girl with the child is from Decatur.

the girl killed was named Esparsa.

My daughter's niece will have surgery this morning to put pins in her legs. She still does not know her friend passed away in the accident.

The funeral for Anita will be at the Forestburg school on Friday at 2:00 (school will dismiss at 12:30). Visitation is at White's funeral home in Bowie Thursday night from 6-8.

Is there any update on the injured? Prayers are with all that were involved.

I'm not sure about the teenagers, but the mom and 3 yr old son involved are both in stable condition. The mom has had 2 surgeries on her leg and the little boy probably won't need surgery...thank God! Please continue to send your prayers. It will be a long healing process and he will have to learn to walk again. But the important thing is that they are both stable. I'm still surprised that nothing about the wreck has been mentioned in the paper.

Thank you or the update. I'm surprised it wasn't in the paper also but by it not being in the paper it may make it alittle easier for the party's involved to beable to deal with the situation.

This is a Terrible Tragedy & my Prayers are with all the Families Involved. I recall the 17 year old Driver of the Car that was at Fault, was responsible for another Wreck last year. Two girls were with her & she ran off the road at a high speed & swirved back & flipped the Truck over. One of the passengers had to be Care Flighted & was in Critical Condition. I know the Girls Parents & grandparents, and they have all had Bad Wrecks. Her Great-Grandmother was killed back in the 1960's from wreckless Driving. I hope & pray this is a Wake Up call. When a Teenager starts Driving, its the Parents Responsibility to make sure they are well Educated & Well Experienced before they get behind the wheel. Most of all, to teach them to drive safe at all times, especially if they have other passengers in the car. Safety of all people should be #1. I was always taught when driving, that HORSE PLAY, Messing with the Radio,Putting on Makeup, talking on cell phones & not paying attention to the road could get you killed. We need to teach our Children that Driving a vehicle is not a Fun Joy Ride, its a Serious Task & a very Important Responbility. That our Goal is to Drive Safe, Abide by the Laws, and get to your Destinations with a Smart Head on your shoulder & Using Common Sense & Concentration without any Destractions. I know of a few teenagers that are given a Car or Truck by their parents just to get ride of them for awhile.
If we dont show our Kids, Love & Attention & show them how to be Responsible in Life with their Decisions & show good examples to our Kids when they are growing up,then its our Fault.! Dont get me wrong, I am very caring & concerned about the Incident that took the life of a Beautiful Teenager who was a Senior & caused Harm & Injuries to Innocent Victims. Having the Funeral at the School will be a Sad Day, but maybe it will be a Wake up call to many teenage drivers & their parents & hopefully save lives!

I think Teenagers of this Generation need alot more Parental Supervision & Guidance than ever before. The Bad Economy has forced many "Stay At Home Moms" to go to Work to help make ends meet. And many are forced to work any Shift. So there is Loss of Very Needed Supervision. Many Kids practically raise themselves now days & do as they please. We all want our Kids to Grow up with Good Values and Strong Morals & have Respect for themselves & Others. To become a Successful Wonderful Human Being that can Function in Life & do anything they set out to do.
But,it comes from the Home. Like Properly Operating a Automobile.
When I learned to Drive many years ago, there were Stipulations & Rules to go by. Laws to Abide by.!
Before I started my Engine, I was taught to Inspect my Tires. Then, get in the car, Lock my Doors and Buckle Up ! Adjust any Mirrors, AC, or Radio Channel. After all was set, I was ready to go Safely & Drive Responsible. Always being Alert of On Comming Traffic & Side Roads. I learned to be Courteous & Serious at the same time.!
Avoid problems & stay Safe. It pays to be Alert & Cautious & be aware of your Surroundings during your Drive. I Enforce A Good Rule when I have Passengers in my car. I let them know, I am the Boss of my Car & Responsible for the Saftey and Well Being of my Passengers, as well as myself. They know my Rules and Abide by them, or they dont Ride with me. First, have Respect for each other & each others Property.
No Smoking or Gum Chewing or any Food Allowed in my rig. No Mud or Dirty shoes. No Foul Language or Loud Talking. No Distractions at all. No Cell Phones. Bringing Magazines or Crosswords is OK. This is not as Weird as it sounds. It shows that you have Pride & Morals in how you Conduct your Daily Life. I enjoy Driving & Traveling by myself as well with Passengers. I have always learned to Listen, be Responsible, and have Consideration for Others, Always be Alert & Drive Safe. Never Pick up Hitch Hikers. Be Suspicious of anyone getting too Friendly, theres always a reason, so dont be a Victim. Dont throw your Life away on Drugs or Alcohol. Keep a high Standard of yourself. Set your Goals & Stick to them. Never give up,keep going!
The Sky is the Limit. Remember,
Life is Precious, Life is Short !!

Today At Forestburg , A 17 year Old Beautiful Angel named Anita was laid to Rest. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew & loved her. A Sweet person who touched many lifes with her kindness & caring personality. Always had a Smile.
Her Heart was Full Of Love !!
Anita was a Senior, looking forward to Graduating in May 2010.
Her Precious Life was Tragically taken away in a Head-on collison last monday Night. I was told the three Teenage Girls was not wearing their Seat Belts & the girl who died was sitting in the Front Passenger Seat & was thrown through the Windshield. Paramedics tried to save her, but never could Revive her. The Driver of the Car suffered 2 Broken Legs, Broken Wrists & Internal Bleeding.
The Backseat Passenger suffered a Broken Arm & Wrist. I understood it was Raining & the 17 year old Driver sped off the highway & pulled the Car back on the Highway in the Wrong Lane & Crashed into an On Comming Vehicle. A Lady & her 3 year old Son were Injured. The lady suffered a Broken Leg & the boy has a Broken Pelvis.
All were Care Flighted.
I find myself in Deep Thought & in my opinion, this Wreck could have been avoided. I Pray for all the Parents to make sure their Teenagers are Provided with all the Proper Training & Supervision Required in Driving a Vehicle. Show them Good Driving Procedures and Safety Rules most of all. Teach them to Abide by the Law & get them experience & have them show you what they have Learned before they ever get behind the Wheel. Enforce the Rules & be Firm. Let them know what you expect. Teach Responsibility, and be Professional as they Observe you at the Wheel. Take Pride in yourself & others will follow.
May the Lord, Bless, Guide, Comfort & Strengthen all the Families Involved.

Does Anyone Relate to this ?

Things Happen for a Reason? Are we to Question the Lord ?
If It was Meant to be, it will happen. We are not suppose to know whats up ahead ! Our Days are Numbered. The Meek will Inherit the Earth. You will Reap what you Sew. AMEN !

Ive noticed for years, when someone Dies, lots of People say; Their with the Lord in Heaven.
He is watching me from up above.
My Opinion is, that when a person dies, his Spirit is with the Lord until the Ressurection. If a person dies & others think they go straight to Heaven, then why would Jesus come back to Earth for the Ressurection or Judgement Day.?
I know everyone has their own Belief, but I was just curious to know what others have heard or believe on some of the statements !

Referring to the Car Crash in Forestburg! I think its a Miracle that anyone Survived the Head-On Accident without wearing Seat Belts! I hope others can learn from this Tragedy! I know that wearing a Seat Belt feels like your in a Straight Jacket, but it can save your Life !! My Prayers goes out to all the families.

I dont think I could Live with myself if I was the Driver of a Car that did not Enforce Safety Rules that caused the death of one of my passengers. The 17 year old Driver will face many Sleepless Nights Ahead ! I Pray it was a Lesson Learned!!

I heard an update on the Hudspeth Girl, one of the teenage girls that was a Back Seat Passenger in the Forestburg Wreck.
She was able to attend the Funeral of her Friend & Classmate on Friday at the Forestburg School.
She had a Broken Arm & Wrist and Bruises & Abrasions. The Service was very very Hard on her Family and everyone there.! Her Casket was White and she was dressed in her Maroon & White Basketball Uniform. She was an All Star Athlete in all Sports. This is a Terrible Loss of an Innocent Life.
Everyone will be Affected by this Incident. Even People who heard about it, but did not know her. Its always a Parents Nightmare.!
Some things are Uncontrollable, but this Hits too Close to Home.
My Advice to All Parents and Educators. Start Teaching Your Children at a Young Age. They can Understand Right from Wrong before they turn 2. Show them Good Examples growing up in a Loving and Caring House Hold. Give Plenty of Attention & Listen to them. They want be Young Forever. Someday THey will Thank You For the way you Raised them & Instill the same teachings when they have Children. Teaching Manners & Respect is very Important as well.
Be Firm & Serious with them. Give them Tests on what they have learned & make it a Fun Task. Do this on a DAiley Basis. Repetition has Proved to be Successful. So go over & over a hundred times with them if you have to. Its our JOB.
Its our Responsibility to Educate our Kids. Patience & Understanding is the Key. If we dont teach them, they will Learn from someone else that may lead them astray.
Sometimes we have to get down to a Kids Level to understand them, but we can do it ! ITs our Job. And We all want the best for them that Life has to Offer. Life should never be too Busy to Teach your Child. God Bless you All !!!

I Sincerely Hope that People is Reading these Comments. They do make alot of sense & can be very useful to some Readers. No one is the Perfect Parent, but we can get Close to Perfection. It takes alot of Hard Work & Devotion to Teach and Raise our Children till their Adults. But its one of the Greatest Rewards we can ever hope for them. Strive for that Goal, we can Achieve anything for our children. Good Luck & God Bless.!

I think we live in a Different World Today. What Happened to The Good Old Days? Our Children will never Experience the Good Clean Fun we had 20 or 30 years ago.
Sure, there was Danger and Meanness going on, but it was not that open. The kids can't hang out at the Root Beer Stand or Dairy Mart anymore after dark,or during the Day, because of Pedifiles Stalking them or a Drug Dealer trying to sell them Drugs.
Parents Beware, our Children are Targets for these kind of DeRanged Predators. Anytime or anywhere. You cannot take your eye off them for a second in this Sick Society.
Teach them to Always be Alert about their Surroundings. Stay with a Crowd when leaving a Mall or Store. Be Aware of Strangers that Approach you and Ask for Directions or tell you they have a Flat Tire & need help or to drive them to their car or anywhere. Never Fall for those Scams & get away from them fast & Alert People in the Parking area by Calling Loud for Police, Holler Rape or Fire. Believe me, You will get Attention and dont be Embarrassed, it can save your Life.
Strangers will try anything to Lure a Victim. They can be Male or Female committing these Crimes. Young or Old. Even Old Crippled Ladies in Wheel Chairs have Lured Victims for Predators & Vanishing Forever. Dont Believe every thing you See or Hear. Dont let anyone Fool you. Stay Smart & Safe. Teach yourself and Try Hard to Avoid a Bad Situation. Check out Self-Defence Procedures and learn about the Pressure Points of the Human Body to Defend yourself. These can be Extremely Painful and Deadly to the Attacker. Remember, you are Fighting for Life or Death. At One time or another, you may find yourself in a Bad Situation beyond your control. Everyone knows Life is Unpredictable and you never know what you may face.
Be Ready for anything & be ready to Defend your Life. I learned to Look before I Leap. Check out the Parking Lots & make sure they are not Vacant. Never go out Alone, wait for a Crowd or have a Security Guard Escort you. Most Businesses have Hired them nowdays so dont Hesitate to use them. I carry Hot Pepper Spray & have my Finger on the Button when I am walking to my Car or going into a Public Restroom. These Predators are Lurking Everywhere when you Least Expect them. Stay On Guard. Also,Always check to see if there is a Person Following you. Look back & keep Alert often. They are probably Stalking you to see if your Alone. This Information is not meant to make you Panic or be Paranoid. This is to learn you to be Aware of the Terrible Crimes that we all face. Saving a Life is a Wonderful Rewarding Task.
Look, Listen and Live !

I think back in time when I was a Teenager starting to drive. Our School Offered a Drivers Education Class for a Credit. We were taught all Required Fundamentals on the Importance of Safety Procedures in Operating a Automobile, Taught Instructions from a Qualified Teacher, & Observed movies on Driving and Responsibilities of the Driver. We had a Hands On Training Program. We learned the Laws & Procedures to become a Successful, Responsible and Safe Driver. I think the Schools Fail to Offer Important Classes that our Teenagers desperately need. Sure, Parents cant also Teach them to Drive, but its Different and sinks in better if they are in a Classroom Enviroment on a Dailey Basis.! I wonder if the Schools are offering Subjects that will Benefit our Children now and in years to come. I was told that Forestburg ISD does not even have a Home Economics Class. I think that would be Essential and very Beneficial to our Children. Ive found that 90% of Girls today cannot Cook, Sew, Do laundry, Housework, or Organize a House Hold if they had to. What would happen if they had a Crisis.?
This Generation could not Survive. Are they going to Eat out for every Meal. Buy New Clothes every time they dirty up the old ones. What are our Children Learning about Life.? One day their Parents wont be there & what will they do ? Older Generations like me, could Survive. I was taught Home Making Class in my School. We learned to Cook, Sew,and how to Run a House Hold. We was taught how to Can Vegetables & Meats, and how to Freeze Foods for later eating. We made Jams & Jellie's, made all our Recipes by Scratch.
We learned the Methods of cooking & how to plan Meals with good nutrition. How to buy Groceries and stick to a Budget. Some Child care & Elderly Care Topics were Included in our Classes. I think we had it Good years ago. Ive seen Kids eat Cold Pizza & drink a Cola for Breakfast. What has Happened to the School Systems Today ? I am so Proud of what I was taught in my Teen Years. The Knowledge I learned has been with me for a Lifetime. Thats Priceless. Our Children need all the Prayers thay can get in todays Society.!
