Something Out Of Austin I Like

It has no impact, but you have to like a Concurrent House Resolution 50 that has been introduced in the Texas Legislature. (Ok, federalism isn't as sexy as girls in bikinis but it's pretty darn close.) Source.

Here's another cool link to follow bills filed each day:

It has no impact because we allow the rascals to ignore it. This, or something like it, with the taxpayers becoming involved in supporting it, demanding it, in fact, is our only hope of this great nation carrying on. We, us, under our watch, right this very moment, are standing by, idly watching, while the USA slides further into the steeper angled, slippery slope, of socialism.

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

I need to change the air freshner out in my car and was wunderin if somebody could tell me how.

James Woods wants 12.21 and this other place wants 20.12 so I don't know.

12.21 20.12 what would you do?

12:14, the last part is an excellent quote, I believe. However, if you came up with it on your own you should consider having it published. It's exactly where our Country is today. Evil is triumphant today becasue evil is what has broken banks, housing, freddie mac, freddie mae and so forth. However, "evil" wants to bail them out and they have because good people believed there was nothing they could do so we sat and let it happen. THe sad part, is evil is feeding evil with our money. We can do something but we have become so complacent we let it go. Now we have the Federal Government (another evil) wanting to repair everybody's problems so we will continue to sit back and watch and not say a word. At this time the Federal Government is in the early stages of getting everyone satisfied, just as they did those on low incime housing and food stamps years ago. "Here it is, live on it, get use to it, you don't have to do anything for it, just don't raise any hell". Here we are!!

This evil talk is gobbledygook.

This sounds like the rubbish put out by the Republic of Texas folks. Constitutional legal theory should not be expressed by hackneyed Legislators.

We agree Barry, that is about the first good thing to come out of Austin in decades.

Barry, I'm surprised at you. On one hand you're right, in that the proposed Resolution when passed, will do absolutely nothing. You know it. I know it. Every legislator knows it.

The question then becomes, why do you or I "have to like" it. It is a complete waste of time, effort, money, paper, etc. It serves to make some people, who don't know any better, feel warm & fuzzy like they've done something.

Tell me how it is significantly different than the 10th Amendment. Then explain to me what the authors are hoping to accomplish with it that doesn't violate the 14th Amendment.

I can understand the Resolutions to commemmorate Joe Dan Doofus for raising the State's largest carrot or to make it Texas Tech Football Day when they win a National Championship, but doesn't our legislature have enough to do without wasting time with this.

12:14, Idly watching? Hardly. We went to the polls in record numbers. We decided that we wanted a president and a party in control that we KNEW would lean toward nationalization and socialization. That's not standing around. That's taking action. You must realize that the way it is going is what voters wanted. You don't order fries if you want onion rings. And if you do order fries and they bring you fries, you can't then complain you didn't get onion rings. America ordered the fries. You wanted the onion rings.
