Good for them.

Uh, Barry. Texas is only 3 hrs ahead of California---not 24.

Hoorays for the gays...

In my book---civil ceremonies are o.k. for same sex partners, but not the Christian sacrament.

Well, at least one of them looks happy.

2:39PM, you're too funny!

Anonymous said...

I'm all for gays getting married- hell, they should get the chance to be as miserable as the rest of us.

Anonymous said...

I realize there is someone for everyone but let's be honest here, it's apparent why these two chose the Lesbian way of life, good grief!!

Anonymous said...

If you were a hotdog, would you eat yourself?

Anonymous said...

If you're big enough I guess you could.

Anonymous said...

The one on the left is named Pat.

Hell, no wonder they're lesbos. Look at em. No self respecting man would ... Well, you know.

I'm just sayin.

Which one is the "dude"? They usually wear baseball caps and carry trucker wallets.

My guess is that the dude is on the right and the girly girl is on the left. Well, at least that's how it was 70 years ago...

It's really easy for we who are straight to shoot darts at gays and lesbians. Likely everybody on this board has a gay or lesbian person in the family.

To be together over fifty years whether gay or straight is quite an accomplishment.

I wish them well. Life is truly short.

Anonymous said...

2:08 - Many non-Christians (that covers a lot of people) get married.

Anonymous said...

The one on the left looks happier than Monica Lewinsky at a hot dog eating contest.

Anonymous said...

Do you think they will have kids immediately or wait a while?

M&M said...

It's a sad and pathetic day in our nations' history.

Is the one on the right Pitter?

Anonymous said...

is that pat from snl?sure looks like himher..

5:11. You take my post out of context. I said nothing about the rights of persons of other religions and cultures to marry---only that as a Christian, I personally believe that the Christian sacrament of marriage was intended for the union between a man and a woman.

Anonymous said...

OK, they're married. Did it affect me? I will still have to get up in the morning, go to work, come home and mow the grass.

Am I less married? Well actually no, my attempt at marriage lasted 4 years. I have probably given that great institution a bad name, not them.

Yes, there are those who can cite particular scriptures that describes them as sinners. But the point here is, it's their sin, their responsibility, and if those few scriptures mean exactly what they say, then they will pay the price. Not me.

I have grass to mow. I wish them luck.

You are correct. If they want a church's blessing, they will have to find one that will.

All the laws in the world cannot make a church perform a wedding it does not approve of.

And isn't that the way it should be. The state provides the legitimacy and the church the blessing. You can have one or both depending on your church.

Anonymous said...

5:02 - Well-said! I totally agree.

Anonymous said...

m&m, the saddest and most pathetic day in this nation's history is when you were born.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the lady from the "Where's the Beef" commercials.

Anonymous said...

m&m, why don't you walk a mile in my shoes before you say such small minded things?

Why can't I have the same chance at happiness as my parents?

Why should I live as a second class citizen?

I wish you'd really think about what if you'd been born gay? Wouldn't you want the same chance at a happy, healthy life as you have right now as a straight person?

I think it's a great day in our nation's history. May God bless us all!

Anonymous said...

It's a sad day when the supreme court of california can overturn the will of 61% of it's citizens.

Anonymous said...

I'm usually all for some good girl on girl action. Now,maybe not so much.

Anonymous said...

The one on the left is the man

M&M said...

Idiot anon 8:30 pm What an intelligent response you made. Just guessing, IQ approaching 39, maybe?

Idiot anon 8:48 pm If marriage is defined as between a man and a woman only, how does that make you or anyone a second class citizen? I don't see the connection. That definition applies to everyone equally and no one is discriminated against as Mayor Gavin claims. No matter your gender, race, orientation etc, you can only marry someone of the opposite sex, no one can marry someone of the same sex, no one can marry their dog, cat, horse etc and you can only be married to one spouse at a time. So, please show the discrimination here. You can't because there is none. If that's discrimination, then the beastiality folks are discriminated against since they can't marry their horse and Billy Bob is discriminated against because he can't marry the Bobsie Twins.
Also, are you saying one can only be happy and healthy if they are married? If that's what you think then you have a very narrow view of happiness. Pure craziness.

Anonymous said...

If the will of 61% violates the constitution, then that is the supreme court's job.

Majority does not equal mandate.

whenever bill and hillary first started dating in college she told him she was bi,well bill thought he could handle that, might even be kinna fun.soon after they were married bill feeling kinna froggy asked hill if"n she might want to have a threesome....she hit the f'n roof!!what the f*** do you mean have a threesum??Bill said you told me you were bi and i just thought...Hillary responded "you stupid sob i meant i was BI-POLAR..not bi-sexual.....

Anonymous said...

You obviously haven't read the constitution's check's and balances or the Federalist papers in a while. I know - it's not exactly summer reading unless you are enrolled in a government class.......... Part of the role of the courts is to protect the minority (of opinion) from the tyranny of the majority. In this case the majority is being tyrannical, not wanting gays the same rights they have, just because their biology has made them different from the majority.

M&M - Now I know a lot of religious people like to ignore science, but on the possiblibity that you are not one of those - Science continues to study the human brain and show significant differences in the brain & how it works in straights and gays. They are truly wired differently God is the one that wires the brain right?

Actually they aren't wired differently from the person of the opposite sex, they are just wired differently from a person of the same sex.
The newest research shows that gay men and straight women have brains where the 2 sides (left & right) are almost exactly the same size. However, straight men and gay women have a significantly larger right side of the brain than left. And the differences can be noted at birth.
So there you go - it's just a trait, although a recessive trait since it equals 10-15% of the population - maybe like red hair.

Gays & Straights reach their best selves when they are what they are meant to be. In my experiences, every gay person I know has been absolutely outstanding. Because my son is gay, I know a lot of gay men, mainly; I have yet to meet one that is anything but kind, generous, compassionate, smart - special in too many ways to count - the kind of person that you just love being around.

The biology is proving what I intuitively knew raising a gay son that was different from his brothers even as a small child. He wanted an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas when he was 4. We laugh about those stories looking back & there are many stories like that. I wouldn't wish my sons to be a bit different than they are. They each are the best blessings in my husband & my life.

Anonymous said...

8:48 - Are you expecting sympathy because you chose to the gay lifestyle?

M&M said...

Anon 7:46 am They already have the same rights and equal rights as everyone else. Biological difference has yet to be proved as well as 'being born that way' as someone previously mentioned. Quit trying to make this a civil rights issue, like this is racial or something. Pure craziness.

Anonymous said...

I could never willingly associate myself with ANY form of gaydom. You remember Freshen Up gum? Uh uh no way Jose, the way that stuff squirts in your mouth. Yikes.

Anonymous said...

It's all cutesy wootsy with the gayboy friends and colleagues until one of them asks a girl in the office for a feminine hygiene pad because doo-doo is leaking out his anus.

Anonymous said...

9:01 - You must have worked really hard to come up with an obnoxious statement. THat's a reflection on you my friend, no one else.

Anonymous said...

M&M - Yes, it has been proven biologically, you just won't read or believe it if you do prove it.
Do a little test on yourself, OK? Answer me this question - Could you choose to be gay? No? Neither could I; Sexuality is not a choice; it's biology.

And no,they don't have the same rights as you and I as they cannot marry the people that they are attracted to and are in love with. They don't have tax breaks as a couple, they don't have survivorship benefits, they don't have insurance benefits as a couple, they don't have the right to make medical decisions for their partners, UNLESS they go to a lawyer and pay BIG BUCKS to get all filed legally and then they just have to hope the lawyer didn't leave anything out.

THere was a gay couple who had been together for over 25 years, one got cancer and in the last stages, his parents took him away from his partner into their care and would not let his life partner even come to see him at all. How horribly, irretrieveably sad for them.
NO! Gays do not have the same rights as you & me, M&M.

Anonymous said...

1:34, If the people of California had voted for gay marriage and the courts overturned it, would you still feel the same way?

M&M said...

Anon 8:19 You need to study that research a little closer. There were huge flaws in those studies that were not taken into consideration. For example, in LeVay's work his definitions of homosexual & heterosexual were extremely imprecise, thus creating inaccurate or inconsistent study groups. Plus there was no way of verifying for sure sexual orientation since all the subjects were dead. There was no way of determining whether any difference was caused by sexual orientation, drug use, occupation, disease history, (the subjects had died of AIDS) etc. Plus their results used group statistical differences, thus 27 out of the 30 homosexual men fell within the range of sizes found among the 30 heterosexual men. Plus, certain areas of the brain change over our lives based on our experiences etc. So, please be careful when reading about studies in Newsweek or in the newspapers.

If gays are hardwired that way, then among identical twins if one is gay then the other should be also, but studies among twins do not show this trend.

The population % is more like 1-2%, not 10%. Please.

This has nothing to do with how outstanding a person they are, no one has said they are aweful people. At least I haven't.

Anon 9:27 Civil unions provide all those rights you described. And they have had civil unions in California.

Anonymous said...

No M&M - the brains they were studying were live brains - via MRI's.

And you didn't answer my question - could you choose to be gay? Neither could I, because I'm wired the other way. That's all the proof I need that it is not a choice; I couldn't choose it.

You are strongly attached to your beliefs & that's fine; it was a bit naive of me to even try to get you to see it my way.

But I find it hard not to speak up when someone such as yourself claims that gays have the same rights as straights. THat would only be true IF they were straight, & they are NOT straight- that's the whole point; so your logic excapes me.

But that's all I'll say.

Keep on keeping on.

Anonymous said...

1-2% are gay M&M? You gotta be kidding me? Do a little couting in your own crowd of family and friends and you'll find that at least 10% are gay. Oh wait, I bet among people that know you, they aren't in a rush to be openly gay in front of you, since youw are so biased.
What information are you reading that says 1-2$? THat's outrageous.

Anonymous said...

920 It wasn't all that hard to come up with. People get all gushy over "How in love their gay friends are in spite of the odds" and blah blah. In one of these cases one of them called a girl in my office from the restroom and asked her to bring one to him. She came into my office afterward with a stunned look on her face and related to me what happened.
I mean even though I'm generally an obnoxious person with a dark sense of humor I tend to treat others well and had nothing against this particular guy especially. It just happened and stands out in my mind. I don't know why even for sure. Because it was shocking? Because it's a consequence that people may not have considered when they do get all gushy over their gay friends? Because it's just one of a laundry list of health related issues male homosexuals can experience that a straight person would never face?
I couldn't have made that one up if I tried. It was kind of funny and kind of sad so maybe that's why I thought it worth mentioning.

M&M said...

Anon 11:22 Please cite for me the study, I'd be glad to take a look at it.
Think about what you are saying relative to identical twins. They are identical genetically in every way, yet one can be gay and the other not. Yet, according to you if one is gay the other has to be gay, since they are hard wired that way. But in the real world that is not true. In fact, where one twin is gay, the other twin is gay only 20% of the time. Totally blowing the hardwire theory out of the water, because according to you it should be 100% of the time.

It would be interesting to know your opinions and beliefs about homosexuality before you found out your child was and how it's different compared to now. Most parents opinions change dramatically, either much more against or shift much more favorable to the point of rationalization for their childs' behavior.

Once again, please explain how our rights are different than theirs.

Anon 11:30 Yes, 1-2%. Research it yourself. The gay community have thrown that 10% figure around for a long time just to make it seem like they are a significant minority.

Please show me how believing that marriage should remain defined as between a man and woman is biased. It is not biased because the definition applies equally to everyone.

Those women are in their 80's - so stop the jokes about their looks. Take a look at yourself when (& if) you get to your 80's.
They look fine.

If 10% of the gotdang population was gay the US would be way more fabulous than it is.

Anonymous said...

Different Strokes for Different Folks is what I say.

My gate swings one way tho. Thank you very much.

Let them alone and let them live as a married couple and keep your yaps shut.

Just because we don't approve of something doesn't make it the absolute.

It is not for us to judge. We are not God.

Anonymous said...

It is apparent these two have never experienced the real male member. If they had, they wouldnt never go back. Call me dirtah. woot.

M&M said...

No, 2:45, I won't keep my yap shut. Especially when we know the real reason for all this crap. Look at the history of messing with all this gay crap all these years. First it was all the rights whining, "I can't visit my gay partner in the hospital etc." So, civil unions were created and allowed. Still, not happy, still whining. So, it wasn't rights in the first place, because now they gotta have marriage. The whole purpose with the gay agenda is to normalize and make their lifestyle acceptable with all of society. They are using every resource available to try and do so whether it be hollywood and tv etc, and I'm not falling for it. I see alot of you have, fine. But I will not shut up and allow them to cram their crap down our throats.

Anonymous said...

Wow, M&M, you're true rage is finally coming out - you are taking this way too personally - I don't know what your story is, nor do I care, but you are letting this gay thing make you angry - I have no idea why. Just chill. How is any of this hurting you? (Don't answer that - talk to your psychiatrist.)
"Me thinks she doth protest too much."

You might be happy to know that I believe only 5 or 6 states allow civil unions, Texas certainly doesn't and none of those civil unions are recognized by federal law.

Anonymous said...

i had a dog that was queer onest, also had dyke chickens um hum...

Anonymous said...

M&M - there are gay people who do try to cram their lifestyle down our throats, but there are others who don't do that. They live their lives quietly, pay their bills and taxes and just want to be left alone. Why should put them all in the same category?

I still say, until a family deals with a gay situation first hand, they can rant and rave, criticize, judge, sermonize, whatever. Every family handles it differently - hopefully with love rather than condemnation.

Most of you who quote God and the Bible, apparently have never read it. The Bible is very clear on the position of God and what he instructs us to do with homosexuals. I think he instructs us to judge and stone these sinners. The Ten Commandments are not the only laws God passed down. We have to obey the chapters before and the chapters following these ten verses. Perhaps you are confusing the Jewish religion and the Christian sect with the Roman religion. I doubt, based on what I have read in the Bible, that God will "bless" homosexuals. Obey God and you will live to around 70 years of age. Disobey God and practice homosexually and you will die at an average age of 40. These numbers are statistically accurate (I think the research refers to males, these two old females don't look to be 40).
