I drive down Boat Club Road every now and then. It's kind of fun to see the Copeland Complex and then go through that very north end of Eagle Mountain Lake that looks very much like a scene from Deliverance. But, if you would have kept on going this morning, you would have seen the fire above. More here. Not-a-good.

And WBAP said the owners were vacationing in Hawaii.

Deliverance area your are talking about has to be Indian Creek? Lots of stabbings and shootings down there back in the day(70's) Jackie Todd's, Blue Moon and the orginal Indian Creek Bar. All were hot spots for some the local Wise County Residents. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

I used to play Banjo at the Blue Moon. We'd do some canoeing down the beautiful Indian creek and just hang out with the locals along the way.

Saw in a linked article that Gov Perty vowed to rebuild the Texas Gov mansion "no matter what it costs". Good Republican.

I don't know about good 5:12, but it's sure as hell typical !!

I love old houses and pine when they catch on fire. I do have mixed emotions about the Gov's Mansion, because Perry did foul it with his presence. Maybe it was time for it to be cleansed. That said, I will allow some of my tax dollars to be spent rebuilding it, if all things done are within reason.
