Saw him on this invention called the television last night talking about it, channel 11 maybe?

I saw it on Channel 8 and what a crock. I think the Sheriff has gone nuts and does not care who he makes mad. The list is private and should not be in the paper. If they would serve warrants, the list would not exist. Instead all the deputies do is talk on their cell phones, and eat donuts. STUPID IDEA

I say--SIC' EM, David! If you don't want you name on this list, don't commit crimes. "The list is private" comment is a joke! If you commit a crime, you are violating PUBLIC standards of order and decency in society.

BRAVO Sheriff Walker.
The ONLY people who should be worried about this type of list are those whose names are on the list. Crime is NOT a "private" matter it is the PUBLIC's business.

The Sheriff is high?

Sweeeeeeeeeeet!

Keep those praises for the mighty sheriff coming. Those that work with him aren't so full of praise for his work ethic.

Just like Santa, you better check that list twice before publishing it. An incorrect mention could be costly.

Everything that will be included on the list is public record. Anyone who wanted to get off their lazy butt could go find it if they wanted to.

Let the people who break the law actually pay the penalty. I wonder how many thousands of dollars go uncollected by the county each year from people not paying their fine. As for people who are going to be embarassed for something as little as a seatbelt ticket then they ought to take care of their business a little better. Not my problem.

I think our young sheriff is doing a good job so far. Let's support him in that.

Do have problems calling him "high sheriff".....what is that all about?

Anybody know where that came from?

Well I work for the Sheriff....I don't agree with everything he does, I do agree with the list though.

3:37 I say it is close to political season and since the Sheriff has not announced he is re-running.....who cares about your comment. I see him at our office and all of us like him. So, Walker we like your work and your leadership with our security concerns. Clean off your desk and move west to our company.......

Ya, he has terrible work ethics and he should leave dodge--I mean wise!

Go west young man, go west(or east or south or north)!

High Sheriff is an English term that denotes the highest ranking sheriff, as opposed to deputy sheriffs.

Typically, High Sheriff is an honourific that is used out of courtesy and respect to assure all honours owed a sheriff are bestowed upon the official.

I don't know why work ethic is a topic. He is here a lot at our office. I know he travels some promoting Wise Eyes, but he is here much more than the previous Sheriff. I worked for three now and Walker is definately a better Sheriff than most

WTF! The word Sheriff is derived from the old english term "shire reeve" A reeve was in charge of public order in the "shire" Some one appointed to this possition was known as the "shire reeve" I think that High...is just a red neck addition to the word.

someone ask the Sheriff if he is going seek re-election again............if not why?

The FBI has been publishing a "most wanted" list for decades. Why shouldn't our sheriff do it?
"Private information"? Who came up with that nutsy idea? Before Walker was elected, the others were invisible do-nothings. High praise for at least ONE elected official who works at his job!

i wonder if barry's name will appear on this list and remember this may be the only time some of these people are wanted

Anonymous said...

Those of you who are complaining abou the "list" are probably on the list. People had the chance about a month ago to see if they were on the list and get it taken care of......

I applaud Sheriff Walker for all he is doing! Another term from Sheriff Walker would be an asset to Wise County!

Does anyone else think that mzchief is the crazy old cat lady that lives at the end of the street with nothing better to do than study the dictonary and thesaurus. Mzchief, get a life woman.

revenue must be down

Those who have commented on his work ethic may need to understand he's on call 24-7 and does not work your standard 9-5. Some may want to do their homework before commenting on someone elses work ethic.

Could barry's use of "high sherrif" just be a tongue in check jab at his good friend? I associate the term with Robin Hood stories.

Publish the list or not, let's get these good people thru the system and move on. From where I sit, no sherriff in recent memory has made a dent in the drug business in WC.

And it is probably true that with each change of sherrifs/DA a different crowd gets the perks for a brief period. Such is life, sadly.

Actually, the timing is perfect. What better Christmas gift than bailing someone out of jail.

Is anyone interested in where the word Banjo came from?

I think publishing the list is a good idea (do we get a reward if we point out where the "wanted are?). If my name is on it, I'll have some 'splainin' to do. But if the sheriff knows who's on the list, why don't his deputies just get out there and bring 'em in?

Sheriff Walker and Devon wont work out at all. I hope he goes east to work security. No to Devon

Ol' High Sheriff can do one thing better than the last ones is to get on the news. He can get that accomplished better than any sherriff. As far as the fight against drugs in the county he busted 50 kids a couple of christmas ago. No matter the danger he got the cartel right where he wants them. All though I don't remember a list before all that went down. Now he's getting those blood thirsty, serial, no regard for the LAW TRAFFIC VIOLATORS and bringing to justice with the help of the local paper, local good neighbors, and our local evening news. GET ER' DONE. For all of you that voted for him, there is no stopping him, and you'll get what you deserve. Thank you and may God have mercy on all you.
