Edit: And the Houston DA wanted to kiss his secretary "behind" her "right ear."

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are a Dallas County resident, be very afraid. This is another indication that this guy doesn't have a clue. It's what I've been trying to tell you. You all can go on about the President, but it's bad decisions at the local level that kill a community. I seriously believe that the voters, when choosing local leaders, do not read up on these people. They do not understand the positives and negatives of each candidate. Therefore, you get knee jerk votes by people who vote against one person with no regard of whether the other person is fit to be in charge of anything. If you are going to vote against an incumbent, wouldn't you want to know if the potential replacement knows what he or she is doing?

In his case, goofball is one word.

I'll be the first (and probably the only one on this redneck blog) to defend Mr. Watkins. I'm sure he was distracted by the clu$terf^ck left by the previous DA, Bill Hill. He made good on his license fees, so deal with it; get over it.

Shocking news on this holiest day of Kwanza.

You are so right Crud. Not to harp on our current POTUS, but that's pretty much exactly why George W. Bush got elected freaking TWICE. I'm also fairly sure you couldn't imagine how things might be if Al Gore had been elected.

Oh, and to be ahead of the game, don't even try, Wordpyle. I don't want to hear any more of your right-wing-nut, neocon blather.

I forgot to pay my bar tab and I almost didn't get out alive.

I can't imagine how things would be if Al Bore was President because I'm not a pessimist.

If Al Gore were President, gasoline would be selling at about $8.00 per gallon, terrorists would have already bombed about 8 or 10 stadiums full of people, and the middle class tax rate would jump from 15% to 40% to pay for all of the socialistic programs and to fund the perpetuation of the "global warming" scam. You have no idea what you are asking for when you support those democratic presidential candidates.

Thanks for that insightful comment crud. It removed any doubt about you being a nut-job. I hope your health insurance will cover the commitment and your extended stay.

I guess I struck a nerve, huh.

Were drugs or alcohol involved?

My crystal ball (which is almost never wrong) shows that if the Supreme Court had properly allowed Florida to recount their ballots, Gore would have been elected president, 9/11 would never have happened, tax rates would have been adjusted so that the very wealthy paid enough to balance the federal budget, Social Security and Medicare were adjusted to ensure adequate payments into the 22nd century. Iraqi insurgents (with American support) overthrew Saddam Hussein and Iran became an ally and requested entrance into the European Union. The dollar continued its strength against other currencies and due to improved fuel standards, the US began reducing imported oil. OPEC built new factories to convert their excess oil into fertilizers.

Gee, just maybe things could have been better than the mess we're in now.

5:27, Your crystal ball is cracked. The Supreme Court kept the Florida Supreme Court from legislating from the bench. But at least you did say it was almost never wrong.

Your anonomous crystal ball is on Ecstacy...

The democratic led congress has done absolutely nothing about taxing the rich and funding SS, MC and balancing the budget. Nor have they done anything but argue about immigration.

Blame Bush all you want, but Congress has the power to make it happen...but they are funding billions on bridges in Alaska and tunnels in Massachusetts.

My crystal ball shows me that when Hilary is in office, nothing will get done except taxation. It will be earmarked for programs, not SS, MC or the deficit. We will have peace in the Middle East, but only because of talks that are meaningless. Millions will be killed by radicals, but we don't care as long as they aren't fighting dogs or killing seals or whales. Israel will get to start doing the bombing and we will only condemn them, not help them. Then we get to see $8 a barrel oil and a great recession. The new taxes will create more jobs programs to help the lower middle class since there will be over 1 million company layoffs and construction will stop.

If the dems can't agree and act as a team while they control congress, what makes you think a democratice President can make these things happen?

Hide and watch...then, stick that crysal ball where it belongs...

Gee it's fun correcting right-wing apologists. 5:27 - Florida and all states have the right to organize and supervise their own elections. It was the "activist" Supreme Court that intervened (violating their state's rights position). So you oppose activist courts legislating from the bench - except when it suits you. How very convenient.
Denny - please do some research before you repeat right-wing propaganda. The current Democrat controlled congress cannot accomplish anything of importance due to Bush offering his vetoes. Without 60% in both houses, the vetoes will stick. BTW - the former Republican congress greatly expanded the use of earmarks (that costs all of us our tax money) to their pet projects - including the "bridge-to-nowhere" in Alaska by Republican Senator Stevens. It is clear that the tax-cutting Republicans like to keep the big money folks flush while still expanding federal spending (and deficits) that is dependant upon IOUs for our children and grand children to pay. How responsible (and moral) is this?

We'll just have to wait and see whose crystal ball is cracked.

I stand corrected. The bridge to nowhere was a republican fiasco...and the senator should get porked... Allow me to apologize for my mistake...which, as far as I can tell, is the only mistake on that post.

I actually came back on this comment page to delete my post because I thought the comment redundant. Now, I'll leave it here for future reference and in sincere hope that anonymous can tell me "I told you so!".

Hey DC, you LW. Are you really advocating that Congress should increase taxes on the rich? The rich are the only thing holding this country together. It is their investment in America's corporations that provides jobs for most of the posters on this board. In fact, the rich are sick and tired of carrying the load for the middle class AND the poor and it's about time their taxes were increased. I think the national sales tax is a great idea because it would finally force those of lower socioeconomic status to pay their fair share.
On the other hand, if having Hillary as president is really going to lower the price of oil to $8.00 a barrel, then that's worth considering. It could really cut down on my driving costs.
I'd want to unload all of my petroleum stocks first, though.

I meant $8 per gallon of gas... my bad...but, if a Democrat as President and taxation of the very rich can fix social security, medicare, medicaid, balance the budget, stop terrorists, strengthen the dollar, reduce imported oil, and cause OPEC to build new factories to convert their excess oil into fertilizers; I would be the first in line to sign up to be in the LW party!
