However, if you want to join the more civilized world, then you have to know it’s socially appropriate to call trans gender and cross dressing persons by their desired gender instead of their chromosome gender. (a.k.a. if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck- it’s a duck.)

Just because someone dresses up and pretends to be something does NOT mean they are that something. Surgical gender reassignment must be COMPLETE before someone can be considered a gender other than that which they were born.
Thus, just because it looks like a duck, talks like a duck and walks like a duck does NOT mean it is a duck. It must also be able to ahhh...uhhhh... FloCK like a duck to be a duck.
