Kind Of Surprising

Anti-abortion protesters are asked, "If abortion were illegal, what should happen to the mother who has the illegal abortion?" I thought the answer would have been a resounding, "Send them to jail!" I was wrong.

YouTube is the new FXNews for the internet.

So their emphasis is on protecting the unborn child rather than making the mother pay. So what. Should this not be the central focus here?

What, exactly, is the film maker trying to prove here? All it proves to me is that these people who are vilified for their opposition to abortion are really gracious and loving. The film maker seems to betray whatever point he's trying to make.

there should be a permit issued to any fetus 4 weeks old and older. permits would either allow birth(life) or abortion(death). this would be voted on by a committee ofspecial elected officials. 'life' permits would only be allowed for special fetuses. no blacks, mexies, orientals etc.
what do you think barron?

Come on down to Larry's Abortion Clinic!

You rape 'em, we scrape 'em!

No fetus can beat us!

Free cocktails while you wait!

11:35 I think what the filmmaker is trying to say is that although those protesting have been doing so for years, they have not even considered what would happen if they succeed. For me, what he has found is that these people seem to be loving and gracious and they really don't want punishment for the mothers/would-be mothers...and that...in all practicality...puts them a lot closer to their adversaries than I would have thought possible.

If the filmmaker moves the debate from illegal/legal to how best to care for soon-to-be mothers and those who have recently had an abortion, he has provided a great service.

What this does is bring the hypocrisy into play from the anti-abortion side. The hypocrisy from the pro-abortion side is obvious in that every person speaking in favor of abortion was spared that fate themselves. Now we can see that because anti-abortionists would not consider the death penalty for a mother getting an abortion, they too are hypocritical because it would mean they don't truly believe abortion is murder.

1:38, that's assuming the anti-abortionist is also pro-death penalty. There are some of us who are against both.

All abortion protestors should take a few days to visit children's homes. Homes where children are waiting for someone to adopt them, homes that house children with severe birth defects, in wheel chairs that can't speak or hold their heads up and eat with a button, and whose parents have given up their parental rights, homes that house children whose parents have simply deserted them, physically and emotionally abused them and no longer want anything to do with them. There are many.

After your visit, ask yourself... would these children be better off if the mother had had an abortion?

If you are still against abortions then go and adopt some of those lost children who need a home instead of wasting time protesting in front of clinics. Leave people alone who are trying to make the right choice to have an abortion because they know they cannot care for a child. Concentrate on saving those children who were born and placed in those children's homes.

Before I get shot down, I recently had the opportunity to visit a children's home. I left in tears.

Save the whales, abort the babies.

What the clip proves is that several of the anti choice folks at that particular march are like most of the other social constructionists who don't thoroughly think through the consequences of their grand plans. Kinda like the bleeding heart wackos who think all the Mexican illegal aliens should get to stay in the U.S. just because Mexico sucks so hard.

Video is not available anymore... I'm alway too late to see the good stuff.

Personally, I believe a just penalty would be having to listen to tapes of Ted Kennedy speeches for at least 8 hours straight. That should deter it from happening again.

2:39 So are you going back to blow up the children's home to get those poor kids out of their misery???

12:25 Your a class A idiot.

1;38 The hypocrisy from the anti-abortion/pro-life:

"Now we can see that because anti-abortionists would not consider the death penalty for a mother getting an abortion, they too are hypocritical because it would mean they don't truly believe abortion is murder."

Let me see if I can sort this out. It's hypocrisy for the anti-abortionists/pro-life to not wish to take the life of a young woman. OR: When does murder not equal murder?

2:39 No shots from me! I fully agree! How about visits to the homes of single mothers who try to care for children while working at minimum wage jobs? OH! But that would be the job for the right to life people...right?

Anon 12:25,

I think your reply to 2:39 was absolutely the best response to any argument/debate I have ever read. That makes me a Class A idiot also, but everyone already knows it...

Murder is murder; it's commited in the heart. I am very certain that there will come a day we will all be made aware of the penalties of our action/inaction...
