Gettin' Licquored Up

"Meanwhile, the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including by the drink, passed in the city of Bridgeport by a lopsided 271 to 110 margin, according to Wise County Clerk Sherry Parker-Lemon."

All local election results over at the Messenger.

Rollins Bilby the world is caving in around you, Lake Bridgeport will survive (even without our BELOVED marina in the summer months). Just can't believe B'Port is adjusting to the times, Chico start your petition....now.

3:16 - you are so right- that is where we are in Wise County. If we don't like progress, we can move a bit further to the west.......like Jacksboro - they are gonna be next!

We all know B's favorite drink is some kind of sparkley, non-alcholic beverage and OTC cough syrup, which was always available to everyone at their nearest convenience store.

Me? I likes me some good old Samuel Adams Boston Lager...........not to be found in Decatur last time I was there.

I try not to stop anywhere in Wise County, whilst on my way to the Metromess.

Hmmmmm....
Does the UNDERwelming turnout AGAINST liquor sales in B'port indicate there are NOT all that many crazy Baptist in B'port or that THEY just want EASIER access to booze?

No...mzchief it just indicates that your effort to stamp out organized religion is working. You are changing the local mindset all by yourself!

6:17PM, When did approving liquor sales become a measure of the progress of a community?

I hope the liquor by the drink sales and all that goes with it doesn't come back to bite us in the butt. I have yet to get an explaination of why beer and wine sales weren't sufficient enough for the cause. It may be a terrible mistake. Don't get me wrong I drink beer and liquor but I just don't understand taking it to the next level.

Hello from the new Newark!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny, IGA has had a shattered freezer door for 6 months and water leaks all over the floor that they can't seem to get fixed. But Gary Shelton can get someone there to rip out half the store in 1 day if he can turn a profit on it.
