Now this is a dude who deserves a long rest in prision. I guess I'd like to know how he wasn't already there with all those convictions.
Maybe he knew you'd write "stuff" about it......lol.......
We can ONLY hope he gets life in prison. Unfortunately, in Texas life in prison does not mean the convict will DIE in prison. In Texas "life with the possibility of parole" means he COULD be released after serving 40 years.Currently, Texas does NOT have ANY inmates serving a sentence of "life without the possibility of parole." However, Texas leads the nation with the number of inmates on Death Row.
I think Texas now has a "life without parole" option for capital murder if the jury decides not to impose the death penalty. In cases like aggravated robbery, a defendant must serve 1/2 or his sentence or 30 years, whichever is less, before becoming eligible for parole.Or, my brain may not be functioning yet. If so, I'll correct this later.
Wasn't he also the same guy who punched and robbed a gentleman at the McDonalds in Grand Prairie about a year ago? Also all cought on camera.
Smart men turn me on.
To Barry...On June 17, 2005, Rick Perry signed Senate Bill 60 which gives juries the option of sentencing a defendant to life without the possibility of parole. The law applies only to those convicted of capital murder on or after Sept. 1, 2005. It is MY understanding that as of Dec. 31, 2006 a Texas jury had yet to sentence anyone to "life without the possibility of parole.Texas juries seemingly would rather hand out DEATH sentences. The mandatory minimum time to be served prior to being eligible for parole by someone sentenced to "life with parole" for Capital Murder is 40 years. For the young man in the video's aggravated assault HE will be required to serve a minimum of 30 years prior to being eligible for parole. Pages 85-90 of this LINK spells it out FAR better than I.
why not hand out death sentences? no need to keep this kind around...much less "pay" with our tax dollars to keep them fed, sheltered...and in many cases , entertained and educated. This guy doesn't deserve that! I'm glad I live in Texas where the juries say......"do unto others what they did to another!"
Prison. HAH! And...... that worked for him before? Pleeeeeez. Cut his hands off and that will fix him. He has two strikes so...... two hands should go.
