I had seen footage shot by the French documentary team of the first plane flying into the World Trade Center but I have never seen this footage of the second plane. (It occurs at 54 seconds in.)

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! You know, Demos or Repubs, that should NEVER EVER be forgotten. The Political Correct world needs to just shut up and shut down for at least one day a year, and that footage needs to be shown until terrorism is stopped and those guilty of are found and put to death. I saw the footage of the first plane late at night, and just like this link, the footgae was raw and they hadn't edited out the S-bombs yet. The best view ("best" being for lack of a better term) was the one where the camera was at the base of the building, and you could see the first plane almost like it was fitting into a slot. WOW... NEVER FORGET!!!!
Anon 4:50: What is it that "the libs" have forgotten? We remember that this happened on Bush's watch (warnings notwithstanding), that 14 of the hijackers were our good friends the Saudis (and not a single Iraqi), that the three thousand people who died that day were from all backgrounds and all walks of life and no one and no political party should get any special claim to them, that after FIVE AND A HALF YEARS Osama bin Laden remains free, that the Taliban is back in force in Afghanistan ... I remember LOTS of things, chief, and I don't have to watch disaster porn like this to jog my memory.
Then why do you want to cut and run and hand them another victory? Huh, Chief? Have they found Hitler yet? Who was it that was offered Bin Laden 3 times by the Sudanese? Does this jog your memory too?
gleemonex, you jumped the shark with your posting. Your "blame Bush first" reflex is overriding any common sense you might have.
Tell us more about those "warnings."
Are you talking about the infamous "August 6 memo" which quotes a report from 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack aircraft? That memo? Let's see, who was President in 1998...
Or maybe the previous poster's comment about Sudan offering Bin Ladin to the Clinton administration - which Clinton and his cohorts deny...except that Bill Clinton was recordedsaying that he refused to accept Bin Ladin?
It was a terrible tragedy that will likely be repeated unless we confront the terrorists, preferably "over there" rather than in our own back yard.
Why argue? It is a messy thing, not started here, but we are now forced to deal with it as that footage shows.
Remember the last time America was attacked on her own soil, that war would have ended with a lot more American lifes lost but we ended it as quick as we could with a couple very powerful bombs.
Maybe this all goes away if we are allowed to STRIKE HARD show our power as the world's mightest country and not worry about civilian losses.
You know....I just got back from NYC and the WTC Towers site....and I have to say Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives.....all that is NOT what crossed my mind!
Oh man, where should I start ... you guys just wear me out.
Anon 6:02: I'm pretty sure Hitler is dead. He'd be turning 118 in April.
So but anyway ... First, can I address "P.C."? As I've posted elsewhere on the Internets (a series of tubes): "This old chestnut again. Oh MAN, the wingnuts love 'politically correct.' They love it so much they want to take it out behind the middle school and get it pregnant. Nobody else has said it for twenty f***** years, but these blockheads can’t get enough of it."
It's not "politically correct" to want to find and bring to justice THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY COMMITTED THIS CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY. Blazing across the world in Operation Kill All The Brown Ones, without regard to finding the actual people responsible, bankrupting my country, laying waste to sovereign nations which had nothing to do with the crime (mostly just because the PNAC folk wanted to anyway, for the last 20 years), all while draping themselves in the bloody rags of this horrific tragedy as a cloak against any and all criticism -- see, that's what I'm objecting to.
And then you get people like Anon 8:58 (lots of Anonymous folks out there, rah-rah-ing, I notice), who think we ought to empty the holes, nuke half the globe, cause it was just SO AWESOME the last time we did it. God.
Oh, and sorry to serial post, but Anon 8:59, quick link to nutshell version of the Taliban situation in Afghanistan -- from there, you can research further:
we also fought insurgence in Germany for 8 yrs after ww2
did you think they would just become good little democrats or what?
yes the Taliban wants theyre power back and will fight for it, until theyre all dead or a Gitmo LOL
im sorry but i still believe in winning wars not just chasing peace at any cost but sooner or later someone Will win either us or them. and you dont win any thing by going home.
Ahem!... I dislike the manner in which the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are being conducted. However, since the US has stirred up the poop in those places there has NOT been a single terrorist attack in the United States or against US civilians. I will bet dollars to dimes, within the year after the people of the US elect a weak on war president the terrorists WILL STRIKE the United States.
Face it people, the terrorists KNOW the cowboy sitting in the big chair in the Oval Office will kick their arses if they pull any crap on HIS watch.
Regardless of how much you hate "W" you have to admit HE has kept the terrorists from killing US civilians within the United States.
As for civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan it sucks that they have received the short end of the stick but better them than civilians in the US. You bet that is HARSH. If ANY of you feel and differently then pack your bags and MOVE to where the civilians are being murdered. Perhaps when their governments and countries are straightened out they too can EXPECT to live in peace and safety.
It was not until the last 100 years that the United States was a safe place for civilians.
It took 3.5 years for 3,000 US TROOPS to be killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. It took 30 minutes for 3,000 civilians to be murdered on 9/11. In the 6 years of WWII the United States sustained 407,300 troop casualties and there were a global total of 32,327,100 (YEP that is MILLION) civilian casualties. Piss and moan as much as you would like about how poorly the war is going BUT consider the REAL numbers and the cost of war and PERHAPS if you set aside your dislike for the cowboy in the big chair you will understand that things are NOT going WRONG!
Mzchief, I just fell in love with you. The lib weenies look at the war on terror like it's a TV show and think it should be over in an hour. We abort the same number of babies in the US EACH day as the number of troops killed in 4 years in Iraq. Wouldn't it be nice if we could issue unborn babies army fatigues so that the kook fringe lefties would care about them as much as they do our soldiers.
To gleemonex... CURRENTLY it does not appear to be necessary to invaid Iran or Syria to assure the security of civilians within the United States. However, should the time come that it is NECESSARY to invaide either or both countries I certainly hope to heaven the United States has a president who has the stones to do what is NECESSARY.

The sad ugly fact is that WAR SUCKS!
I saw it on Loose Change. Pretty crazy. Check it out.

I hate it when I have to agree with Mzchief, but she makes an excellent point. I blame it all on you gleekleenex.
You guys are right -- this war RULES! Let's get into Iran, too! And frankly, I don't like the way Syria's lookin at us lately -- they're next!
I'm enlisting -- who's with me??
