According to the 2000 census (which counts incarcerated individuals as residents of the county in which they are imprisoned), Wise County had 600 black residents of which 308 are behind bars.
Good thing Baylor's stadium isn't in the county!

Edit: The fact that Bridgeport has a couple of TDC prison/half-way houses certainly skews the numbers.

LET THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!
Ha ha! Montague County is more pearly-white than Wise County is. But, we all knew that, didn't we?
At least now we know that Latinos are the smartest of them all.
2000 Census? Is the Census Bureau that far behind?
The U.S. census is conducted every 10 years. I'm Canadian and even I know that.
Honestly, I don't care, that's why I didn't know the answer.
God bless Baylor.
Good try Greta
greta you are too idiotic to continue wasting oxygen on this planet.
Because no one, and I mean no one has ever been arrested for being the wrong skin color in this county or any other place in Texas!
Barry, What do those numbers say to you? Please share with us your thoughts...
2:15 Geeez. Idiotic. mmmmm.... usually means without common sense. Evidently, you don't have any.
You should have the common sense to ignore me.
yaengfwIf you Black, Don't come Back.
In Wise County if your here after dark, you must be doing something wrong so they just throw you in jail.
The KKK won't need to burn very many crosses. We all know the latinos live in 4 or 5 houses and the blacks don't live anywhere more than a week or two.
Sometimes the bigotry on this blog makes me ashamed to live here. I sometimes forget until I read this blog how much ignorance and racism there is here. How sad.
7:19 - we can only hope the racists and ingorant represented on this blog DON'T reflect a signifigant porportion of Wise County. However, I'm not confident that's the case.
Thank You.
