Unveiled This Week On The 2nd Anniversary Of His Death

And the picture of it supposedly doesn't do it justice - the thing is huge - weighing over 4,000 pounds.

There are a lot of suffering people in the world right now, families with bellies full of parasites because there's no food, the kid being molested right now, the child lying in pain from the gift of cancer, that I'm sure are real thrilled to know God is love.

It's superfreaking out!

I would rather contribute to that tombstone than give one cent to the idiots at FBC Decatur, or any Baptist whore church. I'm sure that they are more concerned with building another big building than giving real Christian love to the poor.

So roll that up and smoke it. Beotches!

You beat me to it...I laughed my ass off when I saw your post.

Maybe the guy really did understand what the inscription indicated.

Some folks don't do it all but believe what the tombstone says.

And 9:16 makes a point. The mega churches are a turn off, when there are suffering people in the world.

Please don't be turned away from a real relationship with Christ because of fallen humans who run the organized church. Scripture clearly says that there will be "tares among the wheat"

I hate to so greatly agree with you on the FBC Decatur. I know several of the deacons there would would gladly cut your throat if they could make dime off of it.I feel they will have a hieghtened responsibility on their judgement day -- leadership of an organized church should not be a popularity contest or an appointment based on wealth. Unfortunately money rules this country.

I am really sorry that you guys feel that way about church. I hate that you had a bad experience. I do not come from a large (baptist) church, nor do I know anything about any church in decatur. But can I please say something without being attacked.................
We are ALL sinners! I don't care who you are.
The church is a place to come together to worship God and encourage each other in our steps to walk with Christ. We are not better than anyone else nor should we look down at others. We should share our faith in a loving manner.
So you see folks.......
The church is a house of sinners.
Not a house of saints.
We ask to be forgiven and try not to make the same mistakes.
A lot of times we may fall, but you just dust yourself off and try to do better.

11:38 - we all know folks in churches who are there for selfish purposes - to promote business, etc., but as you said, they will have to answer for that. I personally think most splits in churches are for selfish reasons having to do with worship style rather than evangelistic zeal.

But thank God for the church and those who are faithful to it and seek to serve Christ by serving others.

That is the real purpose.

It seems the purpose of Baptist churches is to SPLIT as many times as is possible. I have lost my faith in what Baptists believe, even though I was raised as such. I have also seen through the veils of the DBC in Decatur. Such a shame! It once was a truly Godly haven. It now reeks of greed and politics beyond belief! There are still some good people there..... but they are blinded as to what is happening there. Worship does not have to be in a multi-million dollar facility, but can be done from one's own home, bed, or in God's cathedral.....the beautiful forest! Please do not believe all that do not attend church are lost. Maybe most of those who truly TRULY worship and expose their humbleness in the beauty of God's own creations are actually closer to Creator than those who feel the need to build huge edifices! To each, his own!

AMEN anon 11:50!!!! I for one feel closer to God when I'm outdoors than on the front row at Church....
