Whether anyone disagreed with Stephen Hale on his position concerning marijuana or not, the fact remains that he did not prosecute one single case while he was in office...regardless of the case, regardless of the criminal history of the defendant, regardless of the circumstances of the arrest...dismissals on ALL possession of marijuana cases. In other words it was LEGAL in Wise County for 4 years to possess a misdemeanor quantity of marijuana. He was a prosecutor sworn to uphold the laws of our great state regardless of his opinion...THAT, I did not agree with.
It's total bullshit what happened to Stephen Hale. I guess that is what happens when you defend someone in Wise County that the cops don't want defended.
I agree with betty boop on this one, but did think Stephen was a likable guy. I'd take him any day over a bunch of self-righteous Christians who criticize anybody who drinks in moderation and with responsibility.
At least the guy was up front about what he thought.
That guy was a JOKE as any kind of law enforcement officer. He also had nude pics of women in his office. (I saw them) What kind of professional does that? Hale was an old HIPPIE.... who still felt he was "somewhere over the rainbow." Come on folks... what happened to havin' some CLASS!! ?

For those that want legalization, move to Amstredam.
The only thing legalizing pot would do is cause the price to drop to almost nothing since you could grow it in your back yard.
Other than that not much else would change with respect to useage.
