Excellent cartoon, and in a way sums up the whole U.S. and modern society view of religion. For example, the ridiculous notion that Christ was anything other than dark-skinned, that the King James is the "original", and my favorite which is the many times that someone "sees" Jesus in a window pane, potted plant, mustard stain...yet what they see is something that looks like a caricature of Jesus. We don't know what he looked like. But NOBODY in the history of all these sightings ever seems to point out the fact that Jesus, if he is coming to us as a stain on a window, is doing so NOT as he actually looked but as the person that an artist for a publishing house thought he MIGHT have looked, which can not be right because there were no WHITE PEOPLE there at that time.
As Stephen Colbert put it," the bible was written in english so it could be taught in our public schools".
Stephen Cobert was partially correct but historically ignorant.
